3 teams disqualified from P&S CODM tournament

• Three teams disqualified for having Indian Nationals on the roster
• FenrirXOmega, Team Inceptions, nA | XTASY | VENDETTA were the teams in question.
• All matches affected have been replayed
• The date for the rematch of finals set for the 15th of November

Gamer.LK has taken action against three teams that violated the rules during the Perera & Sons Mobile Contenders CODM tournament. The teams had one or more Indian nationals in their rosters which went against tournament policy and resulted in their disqualification. All games that were affected have already been replayed or scheduled for a rematch.

1. FenrirXOmega competed with multiple Indians in their roster. None of the games were affected and they were disqualified.

2. Various attempts made to contact Team Inceptions player in question failed and the team members, in turn, were unable to prove his eligibility. All matches affected by them were replayed.

3. nA | XTASY | VENDETTA could not prove that their player in question was a Sri Lankan citizen following inquiries made by Gamer.LK, henceforth the two matches affected by this team have been replayed.

Having implemented resolutions for these disruptions in the tournament, a rematch of the finals has been scheduled for the 15th of November. Stay tuned to Gamer.LK socials for the latest updates from the Sri Lankan Esports scene.

L2K beat Union Gaming & eSamurai to win ROG Battleground’s Rainbow Six: Siege championship

• L2k beat eSamurai Esports at Grand finals
• They win Rs 60,000 from Rs 100,000 prize pool
• eSamurai Esports and Union Gaming finish first and second runners up

Sri Lanka’s team Live 2 Kill won’t be slowing down anytime soon as they bring home another title @ the ROG Battleground’s Rainbow Six: Siege championship. After a month of grueling battles, Live 2 Kill came out on top after they faced-off against eSamurai Esports at the Grand finals in a best of 5.

Hosted by Asus Bangladesh the tournaments Rs 100,000 prize pool saw 32 teams battle it out for 1st prize. Live 2 Kill walked away with Rs 60,000 while eSamurai Esports and Union Gaming for becoming were the first and second runners-up of the tournament respectively.

NSBM wins Inter-University Esports Championship 2020 by Gamer.LK

• NSBM take first place with 109.7 points
• SLIIT and UCL take 2nd and 3rd spots with 87.93 and 64.93 points respectively

With Sri Lanka going on lockdown and physical events being canceled, Gamer.LK hosted the 5th consecutive Inter-University Esports Championship which was hosted completely online. The event had no lack of interest as 57 universities completed registrations which consisted of a total of 633 competitors participating in 11 game titles.

Throughout the month of September, players competed for their respective titles to put up points on the board for their universities. The top-performing university was awarded the Inter-University Esports Championship title for the year 2020. The event was sponsored by the official Energy Drink partner Red Bull.

“COMRADES – Team RADICALS” place 1st @ Perera & Sons PUBG Mobile Series

The Perera & Sons PUBG Mobile Series comes to a conclusion with COMRADES – Team RADICALS placing 1st following 2 consecutive wins at “Miramar” and “Vikendi” with a total of 85 points after the final map at the Grand Finals. They took home 2 consecutive maps boosting their lead over their competitors by racking up placement points. Their hard-fought victory will allow them and the rest of the Top 8 to stake their claim on the Rs 100,000 prize pool put up for grabs by P&S.

The enthralling 2 months had its fair share of excitement with the entirety of the event racking up close to 170,000 total views while having a reach of almost 2 million on social media. Many were tuned in daily to support and cheer on the 1354 players that took part in the tournament.

Sri Lanka’s Team L2K win Rs. 500,000 @ Rainbow 6 Siege South Asia Nationals

• “Team L2K” finish 3rd
• Qualified for 6 MAJOR on 25th of November

Pride for Sri Lankan Esports as “Team L2K” finish 3rd at the Rainbow 6 South Asia Nationals. A huge milestone for both the team and for Sri Lanka in Rainbow 6 on account of their top 3 finish. 8 teams participated in the tournament and Team L2K progressed through the upper brackets with 2 wins to the upper-bracket final. Their progress through the tournament was stopped by 2 losses to MercenarieZ in the upper-bracket final (0-2) and Union Gaming in the lower bracket (0-2).

The team overcame a roster change with 2 weeks left for the tournament, as they continued to work on team chemistry and left no room for error. Their hard work paid off as they have now qualified for the 6 MAJOR which is scheduled to start on the 25th of November and will be live-streamed on all official Rainbow 6 channels.
