WG B2R qualifies for Red Bull MEO PUBG Mobile World Finals after triumphant 1st place finish at Sri Lankan qualifier

WG B2R qualifies for Red Bull MEO PUBG Mobile World Finals after triumphant 1st place finish at Sri Lankan qualifier

The Red Bull MEO Sri Lanka finals concluded in the wee hours of 20th of December 2020, with 24 teams connecting remotely to compete for a spot in the Red Bull MEO World Finals. WG B2R came out on top in the points table after 6 matches of intense PUBG Mobile action. The leaderboard was in constant flux and a final winner didn’t stand out until the end of the 6th match – a testament to how close this competition was with Sri Lanka’s top competitive teams taking part.

The significance of WG B2R winning this event is the fact that they are a 100% Sri Lankan team. Red Bull MEO country qualifiers allowed non-Sri Lankan nationals in team rosters, therefore we saw mixed teams with players from the United States, India, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Elon Musk says video games led to his success

Elon Musk says video games led to his success

Elon Musk, Founder of Paypal, Tesla, SpaceX, and 2nd richest man in the world, says one of the major factors that got him interested in tech and paved the way for him to start programming was the video games he played as a kid. At the age of 12, he had coded and published his first video game. He may currently be pulling all-nighters at Tesla but there was a time when he once worked at a gaming startup.

Problem-solving in video games transfers over to problem-solving in software engineering, If people had to try to create realistic graphics using very little computing power, they would have to write really tight code and come up with really clever ideas to do that.

He credited the video games Cyberpunk and the movie Blade Runner as the inspiration for the Tesla pickup truck. He has also announced the addition of video games to Tesla vehicles drivers can play games on the car’s center screen while docked at a charging station.
