NSBM wins Inter-University Esports Championship 2020 by Gamer.LK

With Sri Lanka going on lockdown and physical events being canceled, Gamer.LK hosted the 5th consecutive Inter-University Esports Championship which was hosted completely online. The event had no lack of interest as 57 universities completed registrations which consisted of a total of 633 competitors participating in 11 game titles.

Throughout the month of September, players competed for their respective titles to put up points on the board for their universities. The top-performing university was awarded the Inter-University Esports Championship title for the year 2020. The event was sponsored by the official Energy Drink partner Red Bull.

“COMRADES – Team RADICALS” place 1st @ Perera & Sons PUBG Mobile Series

The Perera & Sons PUBG Mobile Series comes to a conclusion with COMRADES – Team RADICALS placing 1st following 2 consecutive wins at “Miramar” and “Vikendi” with a total of 85 points after the final map at the Grand Finals. They took home 2 consecutive maps boosting their lead over their competitors by racking up placement points. Their hard-fought victory will allow them and the rest of the Top 8 to stake their claim on the Rs 100,000 prize pool put up for grabs by P&S.

The enthralling 2 months had its fair share of excitement with the entirety of the event racking up close to 170,000 total views while having a reach of almost 2 million on social media. Many were tuned in daily to support and cheer on the 1354 players that took part in the tournament.

  • Qualified for 6 MAJOR on 25th of November

Pride for Sri Lankan Esports as “Team L2K” finish 3rd at the Rainbow 6 South Asia Nationals. A huge milestone for both the team and for Sri Lanka in Rainbow 6 on account of their top 3 finish. 8 teams participated in the tournament and Team L2K progressed through the upper brackets with 2 wins to the upper-bracket final. Their progress through the tournament was stopped by 2 losses to MercenarieZ in the upper-bracket final (0-2) and Union Gaming in the lower bracket (0-2).

The team overcame a roster change with 2 weeks left for the tournament, as they continued to work on team chemistry and left no room for error. Their hard work paid off as they have now qualified for the 6 MAJOR which is scheduled to start on the 25th of November and will be live-streamed on all official Rainbow 6 channels.
