Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has struggled to build momentum for its esports scene, but this new FACEIT Pro Series gives the battle royale’s top players the chance to prove themselves and display what would separate Apex from other established esports titles.
Electronic Arts has given FACEIT their first officially-licensed esports tournament for good reason. Not only did FACEIT host the $25,000 Apex Legends Invitational with T1 Esports in late March, but they are also responsible for some of the biggest esports events in recent memory, including last year’s CS:GO London Major. As a proven esports tournament organizer, their reputation should bring some clout to Apex’s emerging scene.
