Last year, Red Bull with the help of Gamer.LK, hosted their first local PUBG Mobile tournament – Red Bull Fight or Flight, and saw 282 teams from across the country participate. This year, Red Bull Fight or Flight returned once again for 10 days of back to back PUBG Mobile action. The event was launched with some of Sri Lanka’s top streaming personalities hosting the launch livestream and engaging with the local PUBG Mobile and gaming community. This year’s tournament also saw an increase in registered squads, with 420+ teams having signed up to participate.

Due to the increase in squads participating, the number of qualifier groups increased from 16 to 22 groups. The top 3 teams from each group would then make their way to 4 semi final groups, where the top 4 teams from the 4 semi final groups would have a chance to become the Champions. The 16 teams that made it to the grand finals comprised of both the top PUBG Mobile squads in the country, as well as upcoming squads who gave their best shot to prove their skills. However, in the end the team who took home the grand prize of LKR 100,00 was the #1 ranked team in Sri Lanka – Team ISSL. They put up an impressive run at the grand finals, winning 4 out of the 6 matches and securing the highest kill points from the entire group. 2nd place was taken by MAX | LND eSPORTS, who won 2 out of the 6 matches and had the 2nd highest kill points in the grand finals, rewarding them with the 2nd place prize of LKR 75,000. And right behind them was WG | NRC Esports who took 3rd place and won LKR 50,000.

Team ISSL’s performance not only netted them the top spot at the tournament, but also crowned them as the team with the most chicken dinners won throughout the entire event, with 5 wins. ISSL – Lucifer was also crowned the top fragger of the entire tournament, with 35 kills to his name.

Red Bull is the world’s most popular energy drink, a brand loved by many Sri Lankans and one of the biggest sponsors of sporting events in Sri Lanka, being a major contributor for sports such as Cricket, Surfing, Rowing and since a few years ago, Esports. Some examples of this are the recent Red Bull Campus Clutch Valorant tournament and Red Bull M.E.O Season 3. These events not only allow Sri Lankans to face off against each other in local competition, but also give them an opportunity to reach the international Esports stage. A big shout out to Red Bull for hosting the Fight or Flight series, the gaming community looks forward to their next Esports event.
