Gamer.LK Staff reserve the right to decide what will be deemed as an exploit or abuse.

5.2. - Use of Third Party Softwares
The use of 3rd party software that enhances performance (trainers) is illegal. Should a player be found using such software, he may be disqualified from the tournament. Any complaint regarding such matter should be made during the match, and will be dealt with after the race is completed.

5.3. - Track Cutting
Track cutting is illegal. These are defined as instances where a player can gain a time advantage by moving all 4 wheels off the track. Track cutting will be identified by the game itself. If a player gains a position or time advantage due to intentional track cutting, a drive through penalty may be implemented in the immediate next lap.

5.4. - Impersonations
Impersonating an eligible player by attempting to alias as them, using their Steam account or by any other method is prohibited and will result in the aliasing player and the player they are aliasing as being removed from the tournament.

5.5. - Unsportsmanlike Behavior
In the case of unsportsmanlike behavior in-game (e.g. ramming, collision, deliberate griefing) a drive through penalty may be implemented in the immediate next lap.
- If such an incident occurs on the final lap after the pit lane entrance has passed, the offending party will receive a 30-second time penalty, while the disadvantaged party will retain their position at the time of the incident.
- If hit from behind deliberately to spin the opponent in front out of track, a penalty of a 5-second time penalty be imposed.
- If the player in front slows down after a bump or a crash, they cannot block the player coming in from behind. If this happens, a 5-second time penalty will be imposed.

For an orderly and pleasant game it is essential that all players have a sporting and fair attitude. If Tournament Staff (Gamer.LK Referees) believe a player to be in breach of this rule then they will receive a formal warning (in addition to the relevant penalty), or in extreme cases, instant elimination. The race may be restarted if such incident occurs.

6. - MATCH RULES

6.1. - End of Race
At the end of each match, the players must remain seated, remain at the victory/defeat screen and await a referee to record the results. Closing the victory/defeat screen without the replay being checked by a referee may result in a default loss.

6.2. - Disconnects
Since Project Cars tournaments are played online there could be instances where disconnections occur.
Disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to system, network, PC, and/or power problems/issues.
Intentional disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to a player’s actions (to avoid losing or disrupt the match). The race may continue at the discretion of the Tournament Staff and upon judgment by the referee, the offending player may be charged with a default loss.
If a player disconnects during a match, the game is always re-hosted unless the dropped player would not have earned any points from their potential finishing position based on their performance in the match up to the point of disconnection.

6.3. - Pauses
If a player pauses a game they must state the reason for the interruption and how long it will approximately take to a Referee. The game can only be resumed by the player that paused the game at the discretion of the referees. Violations and abuse of this rule are handled as unsportsmanlike behavior and can lead to disqualification.

6.4. - Match Interruptions & Crashes, Bugs
If a player's controller crashes or a player disconnects or if the race is involuntarily interrupted due to a player crash, server crash, network failure, power failure, etc the game must always re-hosted.

6.4. - Unfair Play
The following actions will be considered unfair play:
1. the use of any cheat program
2. an intentional disconnection
3. the use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings
4. any “unnecessary chatting” during the match. “Unnecessary chatting” means any chatting other than the cases such as: greeting messages between the players; repeat of “P” to request for a pause during a stage match; a signal for the loss (i.e.: „gg‟, „GG‟, or any other message that the referee can use to decide the winner); chatting between players that does not violate the unsportsmanlike behavior clause; any message that the referee can judge as part of the game.
5. clearly allowing one’s opponent to win a match.
6. if a referee decides that external conditions (Press, Team Leader, Player, Spectator, etc) are giving or have given an unfair advantage to a player, the player may be given a warning or lose by default at the referee’s sole discretion.
7. unsportsmanlike behavior or, in general, disruptive (e.g., shouting), inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player (even inside the game).
8. the use of a program bug that is determined by the Tournament Staff as being unfair.
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the Tournament Staff, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss or, in extreme cases, be disqualified from the tournament.

6.5. - Game Settings Precautions
The teams‟ and players‟ abilities cannot be modified arbitrarily. Graphics and other settings may only be setup through the menu. (Configuration file cannot be used). Players on both sides must select the options before they begin the game. The match result will be accepted even if the players, during or after the match, find out each others' settings were different from the official settings.

6.6. - Collusion Policy
Collusion is defined as any agreement among two or more Players to disadvantage other Players in the Competition. Collusion between Players is strictly prohibited.
Examples of collusion include, but are not limited to:
- Intentionally losing a match for any reason, either during Online Qualification or at Live Events.
- Playing on behalf of another competitor, including using a secondary account, to aid them in Online Qualification or Live Events.
- Any form of match-fixing.

The following are the game-specific rules for Gamer.LK Mortal Kombat XL Ranked tournaments. These rules must be followed in conjunction with the General Competitive Rules of Gamer.LK Ranked Tournaments. Previous versions of Mortal Kombat (X and below) will not be considered as ranked titles.

GENERAL COMPETITIVE RULES AT GAMER.LK RANKED TOURNAMENTS
The General Competitive Rules can be found here. The general rules listed there apply to all gaming titles and all teams/players who register for any Gamer.LK Ranked Competitive tournament are expected to follow them.

1. - TOURNAMENT BRACKET

The tournament bracket used (single elimination/double elimination/group stage) will be decided by the Organizer and announced on the Tournament Announcement posted on Gamer.LK. Gamer.LK will make every effort to have the most fair bracket but depending on time constraints this may change at the discretion of the Gamer.LK Staff. The Gamer.LK Ranking system will be used for the purpose of seeding to make the draws as and when needed. No other ranking will be considered.

2. - TOURNAMENT COMMUNICATION

All teams and players are encouraged to join the Sri Lanka Mortal Kombat Community Facebook group to stay up-to-date with the latest information regarding the game and the local community.

3. - TEAM COMMITMENT

3.1. - By submitting a registration for a Gamer.LK Ranked MKXL tournament, all players acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules set herein and especially with the decisions made by the Gamer.LK Staff.

3.2. - All competitors are expected to know and understand all the rules described here. Not knowing that a rule existed or that it was in place will not be considered as an acceptable reason for breaking said rule.

3.3. - A player’s name, icon, profile picture or logo may not contain any of the following: profanities, obscene language, gang affiliation, drugs, sexual material, offensive material, slander of Gamer.LK or it’s administration, partners or sponsors.

4. - GAME RULES

4.1. - Competition Method
1 vs. 1 (Solo matchup)

4.2. - Choosing Playing Sides
When both players are at the game console, they must come to an agreement which side of the machine they will play on (who will sit on 1P and who will sit on 2P).
If an agreement cannot be reached, a coin toss will determine who gets to pick their side. But it is advised to come to a friendly conclusion to avoid conflicts.

4.3. - Choosing Characters and Stage
There are 3 methods for choosing characters:
1. Standard Selection
2. Double Blind Selection
3. Side and Character Courtesy
If the players do not discuss the method of character selection, it should be understood that the Standard method is being used. If the players cannot come to an agreement on the method of character selection, the referee will apply the double blind method.

STANDARD SELECTION
Both players choose their characters whenever they want. This is a free for all. Players pick who they want and go. Once either player chooses a character, neither is allowed to request that the Double Blind Selection or any other method to be used.

DOUBLE BLIND SELECTION
Either player must explicitly ask for the Double Blind Selection method before either player chooses a character. When a player request Double Blind, the player on the left side (1P) decides which character and variation they will choose and whispers his selection to the Judge. The Judge then signals the player on the right (2P) to pick his character and variation. Once the player on the right (2P) has finished, the Judge makes sure the player on the left (1P) sticks to his original choices.

SIDE AND CHARACTER COURTESY
As a courtesy, the player who received his choice of which side to play on (1P vs. 2P) can elect to choose his character first. This is strictly a courtesy. A player is in no way required to do so.

STAGE SELECTION
Each player can select the stage they want to play. If the selection of players is different, the game will randomly pick a stage from their selections. After choosing character and stage players jump straight in to button check game.

4.4. - Button Check
- Before going to the 1st game of the match it is mandatory to have a button check round.
- Players must check and confirm to the referees that all the buttons in his controller are working properly.
- If the button arrangement is different for the player he must choose and modify a different controller preset via in-game menu to his liking.
- Players at no circumstances are allowed to change controller preset 1. It must remain as the default preset.
- Players are not allowed to change presets created by other players who already played.
- If the number of custom presets exceeds 3, there will be no space for another preset.
- In this case the referee must take a decision to overwrite a preset which will be not used or rarely used in the future matches.
- After checking all the buttons players are not allowed to change character, variation or stage.
- After both the players have confirmed that they have configured their controllers, the referee will give permission to start the 1st game of the match.
- Under any circumstances the player is not allowed to complain after the button check that his configuration is wrong. If a player founds that his configuration is wrong inside a game, he may pause and change his configuration at the cost of the game.
- Pauses regarding button configuration issues count for immediate forfeit of the current game.

4.5. - Playing the Match
- The Match is over when either player wins the required number of games.
- Once a player has won the required number of games, the winner of the Match should report the result to the referee.
- In between games each player is given a combined 1 minute interval.
- If there are still Games to be played, the player who lost the Game has the option of switching sides (1P vs. 2P) for the next Game.
- Interval between two games is 1 minute.
- The player who won the game does not have the option of switching sides. He must stay on the same side if the loser does not want to switch.
- The player who won the last Game is required to keep the same character and variation for the next Game.
- The player who lost the last Game is allowed to either restart the match in same conditions or choose whatever character or variation he desires.
- A player who lost the match due to a penalty will not have this privilege. He will have to follow the rules for his last game which was not decided by a penalty.
- In case of a character select, no restrictions are put to the stage for the following match.
- Players are allowed to pick any stage they like and the game will randomly pick a stage if the choices differ.
- Whilst in game the players must at all-time adhere to the referee’s warnings.
- If the referee asks to stop a game for a reason he deems correct players must pause and heed the referee.

5. - GAMEPLAY RULES

5.1. - Abuses & Exploitation
Exploiting game or map bugs/glitches/flaws (“exploits”) for the purposes of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited. If a player accidentally or intentionally stops his game for any other reason, he will be forced to forfeit the game. Examples include accidentally pressing the start button on his controller to pause the match, unplugging his or his opponent’s joystick, etc. If the game cannot be restarted from the exact point of interruption, the player is forced to forfeit the Game.

6.3. - Match Interruptions & Crashes, Bugs
Match interruptions beyond the players control (e.g. the game crashes or freezes) will be dealt directly by the referee. All best attempts will be made to resume the round from where it left off. If that cannot be accomplished, the Game will be replayed with both players p icking the same characters, variations and stages.

6.4. - Equipment Failure
In the event of an equipment failure, they player has the option to stop the Game in progress to obtain a replacement. If a Game is stopped in progress, the reporting player must forfeit the current round.
New equipment must be immediately available. If replacement equipment cannot be obtained in a timely manner, the player must continue to play on their current equipment or forfeit the Match.
Once replacement equipment is obtained, the player is given the rest of the round to configure their buttons and test the new equipment. If the player gains an undue advantage by doing so (e.g. charging an abundance of super meter, getting out of a block string, etc.), they must forfeit the Game.
A player may opt to switch out equipment between Games at no penalty. When this occurs, the player will be given ample time to configure his buttons before the next Game begins.
It is common courtesy of the opponent player to pause the match if his opponent’s controller malfunctions. But he cannot be forced to do so.

6.5. - Unfair Play
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the Tournament Staff, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss or, in extreme cases, be disqualified from the tournament.
