An initiative that began over a decade ago with a mere community forum has grown into the leading force that drives Esports and digital entertainment as we know it today in Sri Lanka.
From online leagues to major LAN tournaments held in the most remotest parts of the country to the biggest digital entertainment expos in the region, Gamer.LK has had one vision and through the constant efforts of the dedicated staff and with the careful guidance of the founding team of Gamer.LK, Esports in Sri Lanka is now an official sport and is now known as one of the fastest growing sports in the country.
Thanks to the efforts taken by Gamer.LK, we all enjoy the benefits of teams, clans, tournaments, sponsors and even third party companies taking more and more notice of the local gaming scene.
The team behind Gamer.LK consists of a large group of diverse individuals who are bound together by their shared passion for Esports and Digital Entertainment. Coming from across Sri Lanka, this group is responsible for doing what many others deem impossible. Do you think you have what it takes to join the team?

Read this before you apply
Applicants should be enthusiastic and driven about making a difference in the Esports community, willing to go the extra mile, be loyal, flexible and able to work with whomever they are assigned to. Most importantly, applicants should be of stellar repute in the gaming community with no bans or disqualifications under their name. Some tasks assigned, such as for referees include the responsibility of taking major decisions (ex: disqualifying a team in a tournament), so do not take your application lightly.
Successful applicants will be shortlisted and contacted individually.

EVENT STAFF
This is the team who ensures a tournament runs smoothly from start to finish and are responsible for the integrity of the tournament.
Some of the responsibilities a Game Referee would have:
– Record the outcome of matches and keep track of the tournament brackets
– Officiate matches and make sure that players are sticking to the rules
– Hand out penalties if rules are broken
– Communicate with teams to settle any disputes
– Offer support to teams when joining matches
– Coordinate with teams/players as required to begin matches on time
– Help set up and test servers, etc when needed
– Learn and maintain an in-depth understanding of the game and the event rules
– Escalate match disputes, technical issues or any other matters to senior staff
– Help setup, manage and dismantle during live LAN events (Playing areas, PCs, spectator areas, etc)
What we look for in a Game Referee?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion and enthusiasm for Esports and gaming, especially in the game they referee
– Communication skills, being able to handle a situation and communicate properly
– Being observant on what is happening during a match
– Ability to work on a team on assigned matches
– Ability to be level-headed, impartial and fair when taking decisions
– Ability to understand the game and event rules
– Strong understanding of Esports competitions and formats
– Being punctual, ahead of everyone else to ensure things are ready beforehand
– Staying on after live LAN events end, to assist dismantling and packing up equipment for storage
– Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Being autonomous and responsible for their actions
Tournament Talent (Casters)
This is the team who brings the action of the game closer to the audience with their exciting, energy-packed match commentary and analysis.
Some of the responsibilities Tournament Talent would have:
– Tournament Casters would need to commentate matches or provide analysis during a broadcast
– Work with other Talent on the team to plan for a broadcast beforehand
– Find out information about the teams and players of the match being broadcasted
– Game Observers will need to communicate with the Tournament Casters and establish a smooth production
– Work with the Production team to manage and maintain necessary broadcast software and/or devices
– Stay updated about the game and the meta by reading patch notes, reviews, etc
What we look for in Tournament Talent?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion for Esports and gaming, especially in the game they are responsible for
– Previous casting, analysing or observing experience (a demo reel or similar as proof)
– Communication skills and oral fluency in a language of choice (Sinhala, English or Tamil)
– Proper microphone, webcam and stable Internet connection (for online tournament casting)
– Comfortable to be in front of the camera and have a live audience
– Eager to learn on the job
– Being autonomous and responsible for their actions
– Being punctual and ready for matches and the broadcast beforehand
– Ability to understand indepth game mechanics and the rules (both game and event rules)
– Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Ready to adapt to on-the-fly changes that takes place during live LAN events
– Ability to work with the Production team to train and improve based on feedback
– Previous experience in working with softwares such as OBS and Streamlabs will be an advantage
Media Team
These are the story tellers behind Sri Lankan Esports who work to ensure that the community stays informed of the latest updates, news and tournament information.
Some of the roles on the Media Team are:
– Article writers: Keeping our websites updated with the latest news and tournament updates
– Graphics designers: Everything from memes to the latest tournament scores, these are the artists who bring Sri Lankan Esports to life
– Photographers and Videographers: Capturing the best moments at our live LAN events that will live on forever
– Social media: Connecting our community with the players, casters and everyone else with the latest information on tournaments, news updates and creating engaging campaigns driven for community engagement
– Video editors: From creating highlights to TV-broadcast event trailers, mini-documentaries and recap videos, these are the magicians who create amazing motion content
What we look for in in Media team members?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion for Esports and gaming
– Previous experience in creating content (links to past work or portfolio)
– Being comfortable to use softwares such as Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects for the roles as required
– Communication skills and fluency in a language of choice (Sinhala, English or Tamil)
– Comfortable to be in front of the camera and have a live audience
– Eager to learn on the job
– Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to work with the other teams to create new and engaging content to drive the tale of Sri Lankan Esports
Streamers
They bring Esports and video games to newer and bigger audiences often on a daily basis through gameplay and bring the community together.
Some of the responsibilities a Streamer would have:
– Create engaging livestreams on a regular schedule
– Depending on the game, gameplay or lobbies can be hosted during the stream
– Establish a relationship with the viewers through engagement so that they return to watch
– Work with the Production team to manage and maintain necessary broadcast software and/or devices
– Staying updated about the game and what to talk about during the stream
What we look for in in Media team members?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion for Esports and gaming, especially in the game they are streaming
– Communication skills and fluency in a language of choice (Sinhala, English or Tamil)
– Comfortable to be in front of the camera and have a live audience
– Eager to learn on the job
– Being autonomous and responsible for their actions
– Being punctual and ready for the livestreams beforehand
– Ability to come up with new and creative ways to engage with the viewers
– Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Ready to adapt to on-the-fly changes that may take place during a live-stream
– Ability to work with the Production team to train and improve based on feedback
Production Team
These are the people who work behind-the-scenes to bring live content from events and livestreams to the viewers and provide the technical expertise to establish new ways to connect with live audiences.
Some of the responsibilities a Production Team member would have:
– Setup and handle cloud servers and routing for broadcasting livestreams on multiple channels and platforms
– Establish the production plan and broadcasting requirements for livestreams, especially at live LAN events
– Prepare, setup, manage and dismantle broadcast and production equipment during live LAN events
– Perform roles such as main producer/operator, replay producer/operator, etc according to the requirement
– Create overlays and other broadcasting elements, including things like live notifications and using ingame APIs to create engaging livestreams
– Stay updated with the latest news and updates in the broadcasting and production industry
– Stay in touch with updates to games and new developments in the Esports industry
– Work with the other teams to ensure their broadcast software and/or devices are updated
– Aim to streamline Gamer.LK’s production and content creation arm
What we look for in in Production team members?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion for Esports, gaming and broadcasting/production
– Communication skills and fluency in a language of choice (Sinhala, English or Tamil)
– Ability to work on a team for assigned tasks and roles
– Eager to learn on the job
– Being punctual for setting up broadcasts beforehand, especially at live LAN events
– Staying on after live LAN events end, to dismantle and pack up production equipment for storage
– Ability to work under immense pressure in a fast-paced, real-time environment
– Ready to adapt to on-the-fly changes that takes place during live LAN events
– Previous experience in working with production and broadcast hardware/software will be an advantage
Event Staff
These are the people who work tirelessly to ensure our live LAN events run smoothly and without a hitch. From setting up of the power and the network for the playing areas to manning the registration desk, they ensure that everything is ready always.
Some of the roles as Event Staff are:
– Electrical Engineers: Responsible for setting up, managing, troubleshooting and dismantling the electrical and power grids set up at live LAN events with inhouse equipment.
– Network Engineers: Responsible for setting up, managing, troubleshooting and dismantling the network, routers, switches and other network equipment set up at live LAN events.
– Event Volunteer: Everything from manning the registration desk to providing support in the playing areas, they are assigned to handle the event work on the ground.
What we look for in in Event Staff members?
– 16+ years of age
– Passion for Esports and gaming would be an advantage
– Communication skills and fluency in a language of choice (Sinhala, English or Tamil)
– Ability to work on a team for assigned tasks and roles
