I too wanted to try these out from sometime back but hardly got my hands on a proper PSP to do so..
the intstructions on the 5.00M33 goes like this

Instructions:
Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.
Put the 5.00 sony update as 500.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.

so i assume its not that hard to hack but pls do look around coz the 5.00M33 files are not more than 500K but the 5.00 sony update is around 24MB

5.00m33 sucks balls i remeber the days of 3.03oe-c  :D and how customisable it was 5.00 m33 is rubbish 3.72m33 is the best m33 out although its old and many of the new "features" of 5.00 (most of them are a waste of presious ram) are missing it still is the most stable and most suitable for homebrew iso/cso and psx. ill my psp mates r at 5.00m33 and half of their iso/cso dont work because of over compressing. one of their games might be 800mb while i can get mine down to a miniscule 175mb.

anyone downgrading then upgrading to and open edition firmware should stick with 3.72m33 or 3.92m33
