that is a thing in intel chips that saves power. it's like this. when u run a heavy cpu bound thing the cpu runs at max speed. in my case 3.2 (400 * 8 ) when u run a less cpu needed thing it may run in less multipliers. in my case it may be 2.8 (400 * 7) or 2.4 (400 * 6). thereby u will save power. this happens only if the bois and the cpu support unlocked mulitpliers and that ur cpu is running on or can be runned on a higher CPUMP. u don't need the cpu to run @ 3.2 when u do downloading or jst browsing the net. that's the thing about this . not related to performance. when oc'ing better disable this first and only after u get to a stable cpu level then enable it and have to do the tests again.

well i suggest u to go for the my CPU then . but time to time i'm getting craches here and  there and i'v figured it out as a matter of NB heat. since this country is poor in support of OCing stuff i settled back for 3.0Ghz. even then i have saved about 10k to 15k cos e6850 still cost way too high. and i have the same level as its speed. but it seems as the agent simth from matrix says "inevitable" to go for the quad cores cos that's the future of gameing need. u can start from crysis  ;D . but if u can wait a bit then u can get the next gen cpu's by the end of next years first Q. the mobo is said to be ok with 45 generation once u have upgrade the bios. but for 38.... well u and i both have to get a  new mobo.

it cost 7k.
with fully loaded the temps stay stable at 60 C.
but there is no game that can toture the cpu like prime95 .
with higher freequency the NB get hot realy bad way.
that's y i get back to fsb @ 375 with cpum @ 8. if i had after market NB cooler then 400 or 500 fsb is not a issue to this mobo. the one on the board is not good for higher fsb. i did not went after  400 mark (sometimes some freequency do behave strangly like it dosen't work 340 but do good at 375) cos the risk is far too high when considerting the money.
