bought it online from Dell for USD 1500 from the US a few years ago [they don't ship so you'll have to get someone to send it from there]. I saw Epsi selling the Apple version of this monitor for around 300k. Personally speaking, the 24" ones for USD 400 to 600 are a better bang for buck and can be picked up freely in Sing.

LOL. But you have to understand, the monitor was purchased for professional work while I was working in the States. It proves brilliant in development with the ability to have a few dozen development and testing windows open at the same time (specially in threaded module development). This in turn translates to added productivity and more $$ bills, the sooner we deliver, the quicker we get paid.

However, since moving back its not being used to its maximum capabilities and I'm regretting the high price. Also keep in mind that this is a one time investment that should last 5+ years if your careful unlike processors and gpu's. A Good monitor like a good sound system is a long term investment.

special? Umm its a 30" LCD with a desktop resolution of 2560x1600 (higher than HDTV's which are 1920x1080). It has its faults as the native reso is so high that even the 4870x2 has issues playing some games (Crysis) at full resolution.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, purchased it from Dell online in the US; you can pick it up now for around $1200 buuut if your patient, they have very good deals during thanksgiving and sometimes it goes down to $800 or less.
