you should have gone for a 8800 ultra (which is better than 9800GTX, but i hav no idea why)or in the 9 series- 9800GX2.

9800GTX is less powerful than the 8800GTX but uses way less power, and overall is a more balanced GPU. I personally would go with the 9800GTX because its a newer generation. But overall, a 4850 is even better.

The 9800GX2 however, is like 8800GT SLI on a stick. Power hungry but fast. If you want SLI without the multi-monitor issues and slightly better scaling, this card is worth a shot. But in that price range, the newer cards look appealing: 4850, 4870, GTX260; And the more expensive 4870X2. Although I think if AMD release a 4850X2, it would be a definite winner.

i was about to go over my budget so i had buy a cheap good graphic card but i borrowed by 8800 and compared. my was 64,820 in 3d bench mark 2008 and 8800 was only 55,820 so there you go.

BTW, Aussies PC parts not very low compared to USA. But they surely lower than SL, and can find any item as well.
