mcdogi, i think your current system is very good for few year. don't buy the 5850 just yet, because u don't need it right now. u might never need it because by the time u need the extra horse power, the other components on your PC would be outdated enough to bottleneck CFed 5850. besides, the prices of the 5850 will come down! rumours are than the 6000 series is coming sooner than everybody expected!

right now, to make a noticeable improvement to your rig, you will need to scrap out everything and go for i7 Lynnfield. but it is not a worthy upgrade. how about an ssd? that'll boost things up. :D

well asus is the best and gigabyte also coz now i have P45 DS4 and its a maxxa board and can overclock my current cpu without any problem,

:no:going for i7 is not easy in sri lanka,  :( i have to get a board , cpu, and ddr3 triple channel ( current one is ddr2) so . i think may be i forget about i7 now coz my cpu is well enough for Games and other stuff, Probebly i may buy a another ati 5850 and crossfire with my current 5850 what you guys thinking about that. :\

U should just get a Q9550 an a kick ass cooler and OC it to 4Ghz with ur current mobo.

Only problem with Crossfiring on a P45 board is that the PCI-E lanes are locked in a x8/x8 configuration, whereas X38/X48/X58 chipsets allow full x16/x16 speeds on their PCI-E lanes.

I don't know whether that'll affect your performance much though. Still, a P45 board isn't the best choice to be Crossfiring cards as powerful as the HD5850. You might need the extra bandwidth to make full use of the 2 cards in Crossfire, but I could be wrong.

are you sure man ??? as far as i remember (im not 100% sure about this) even the x58 mobos run in a x8 + x8 band widths
the only mobos i heard running a dedicated x16 and x 16 is the intel skull trail mobo , the asus p55 supercomputer and the x58 supercomputer series mobos.... then again i might be wrong

LoL, you're wrong dude xD What I said is fact :) The only thing I'm not "sure" about is whether or not being capped at x8/x8 actually affects your video card performance.

I think you should try to get a Samsung F3 drive instead. It is faster than the Caviar Black, which is the fastest 7200RPM desktop family of WD.
