Asus has SATA 3 and USB 3 only for their premium boards which are more than $100 dearer than the Giagbyte board.
If u want to be future proof on a budget Gigabyte is the only way to go.

since you have a 5850 its more than enuf to power all today's games and 2mrws at very high frame rates in very high resolutions.... but why dont you go for a liquid cooling system??? i know some of you will say why the hell do you need liquid cooling but if you can get all the waterblocks for the cpu,gpu and the mobo that will be cooling the north bridge south bridge and the mos fetts and power the loop up with a good pump and a radiator that would be worth it since you are planning to keep the machine for a longer time... id recommend koolance for the water blocks and EK
.. but if u want to have another 5850 go for it its your choice

i think buying another 5850 will be better than liquid cooling  but them again liquid cooling is pretty awesome 8)

Only problem with Crossfiring on a P45 board is that the PCI-E lanes are locked in a x8/x8 configuration, whereas X38/X48/X58 chipsets allow full x16/x16 speeds on their PCI-E lanes.

I don't know whether that'll affect your performance much though. Still, a P45 board isn't the best choice to be Crossfiring cards as powerful as the HD5850. You might need the extra bandwidth to make full use of the 2 cards in Crossfire, but I could be wrong.
