GCCL Season 3 will commence on the 5th of September 2009. Registrations will open on the 8th of August 2009. Note: Dates have been shifted due to postponement of WCG SL.

Introduction of divisions
GCCL will take on a new format starting next season. In order to increase levels of competitiveness seen at GCCL, we will be introducing divisions A and B. Division A will contain the best 10 teams in Sri Lanka battling it out for the Division A championship. Division B will contain all other teams that register for GCCL. At the end of the season, the top 4 teams from Division B will be promoted to Division A. Likewise, the bottom 4 teams of Division A will be demoted to Division B.


For Season 3 of GCCL, the results from Season 2 will be used to determine the top 10 teams. Teams will be placed in division at the close of registrations.

Pro-teams policy update
A "No pro-teams" policy has been in place for all GLK online tournament since its inception. At the time, a "pro-team" was defined as a team that was made of many players from different clans. Clan competitivenes is something we are trying to actively encourage and therefore we decided pro-teams that were made of different clan members should not be allowed to play. We gave clans preference over pro-teams.

Times have changed and so has the definition of a pro-team in Sri Lanka. Clans who consist of their own members have reached pro-team status thanks to skill and dedication. In order for these pro-teams to take part in GCCL, we are adding a condition to GLKs no pro-team rule taking effect from Season 3 of GCCL.

A pro-team, if not consisting of members from other clans, is allowed to play in GLK online tournaments.

I need a little clarification. If a pro team consist of members from several clans for example PeRks (just drawing an example) will they be eligible to play in GLK tourneys ?

They will be allowed to play if the roster for the tournament consists of clanless players. Basically, think of a pro-team as another clan - no multi-clanning allowed.

Yea beginner clans are more than welcome. We have changed the format this year so that the best teams are seperated from the newbie teams. Looking forward to your clans pariticipation
