haha no no. I am just basing the price by looking at what was sold recently...there is 8gb ddr3 ram being sold for 5k and used...
I am just trying to get the best price possible because as soon as sell this I want to get a 16gb kit and + this is only been used for 1 year but with no warranty.

You do know that DDR3 RAM was/is more expensive than DDR4 RAM for the same capacity right? Mostly due to manufacturing cost reduction from process node improvements and density increase.

I checked with Nanotek, they have Corsair and Kingston RAM.

when I bought the ram it was 16k for 8gb back in 2017 then this year in janurary that ram died and techzone could not figure out what was the issue so they gave me a brand new one without warranty.

just because you bought it for a higher price may not be enough to entice a buyer for this item
I don't think you'd be able to sell this for the same price as a brand new one (which also comes with 3 years of warranty)

It goes two ways. Maybe because it was the end of the warranty period they didn't extend it further but at the same time, I've seen Redline giving full warranty on a replacement part if the older part failed closer to the end of the original warranty period. Not a given but it's a nice gesture. Anyway the problem is, given the original component failed within the warranty period (especially RAM which very rarely if ever fails - thus most having lifetime warranty), it's not very confidence inspiring for a potential buyer when this does not have any warranty nor would it be for even you to continue using it further unsure if/when this replacement might fail as well.

I personally tend to stay away from Techzone for main internal components since 2013 after multiple warranty shenanigans, including Seagate, EVGA and InWin.

Early-ish adopters (since DDR4 became mainstream towards end of 2015) pay a lot more and that cost can never be recouped several years down the line. 2080 Ti is a good example, especially people who bought into it towards the end of Turing.
