SLT Fibre GPON Firmware Flash
«

I have recently got Fttx and the SLT was generous enough to offer it to me free of charge. It was good. The speed was fine and all good.
But all so good comes with a con - The GPON / Router is pre configured with configured and hidden QoS. The router limits specific traffic such as Ftp download, torrent etc. It is obvious because on GPON web guideline it shows qos tab but this one it is not there on network tools. ftp download to 10 Mbps, UDP to 35Mbps vice versa. Http web traffic on port 80 gets the full bandwidth - 92~ Mbps.
I did some background search and it seems the router/PON they provide is from huawei and model is HG8245h and they give us only a limited access user not the root. And apparently the minute you connect the fiber cable, it establishes connection download settings and boom the user is gone.
Im trying to do some workaround where I can get through the router security and gain root and disable damn qos which limits my precious bandwidth!
has anyone tried this?> any comments or details are greatly appreciated!

Wondering what you did about this? I hadn't noticed anyone talk about it. We've had fiber for a while (either Since Nov/Dec of 2016 or 2017, can't remember which year) and it came with this ZTE F660 router which doesn't appear to do any such trickery. I've seen torrents go beyond 8-10 MB per sec and downloading on steam, uplay averages above 10, usually over 11.
Not via wifi btw. Via Ethernet/Wired. Wifi is generally slower, and the router doesnt support 802.11ac. Only upto 802.11n

I had a technician from SLT to come over and look at my tests. and he assured that no controls are there, and QoS isn't disabled, it doesn't come in this model. and also its built in fire-walled, so port forwarding makes lot of trouble.
However the speeds went to a considerable level after my complaint.
So stepped down accepting handicapped GPON without having access to QoS, Firewall and vice versa
