GamerLK is your forum. Sure, there are admins, and moderators, but in the end, it's gamers who power this site. We like cooperation, we like friendliness, and above all, we like games. However, we all know that public message boards and anonymity are a dangerous combination.


We do not like having rules, or enforcing them. However, it's something that we are forced to do. Here are a few things you should take note of before posting on these forums.

Be Civil.
Just because you're behind a handle doesn't mean that you have to act like a complete moron. If we catch you flaming, trolling, advertising, astroturfing or otherwise making a nuisance of yourself, you will be warned, and then banned. Words are cheap, pwnage is not.

Quality of posts
Gamer.LK is not your average Sri Lankan discussion forum. We encourage constructive discussion and generally frown upon pointless posts that do not contribute in any way. Here at Gamer.LK you are known for your contributions, not your post count

Examples of pointless posts:
Saying "ela ela" or any similar derivative of that.
Single smiley or smileys only posts, unless used in proper context along with a quote.

An exception to this rule would be showing your support to a newly founded clan by wishing them good luck.

If we see such posts, we will take the following action:
Delete posts deemed pointless
Reduce your post count in your profile.

No Personal Attacks
We don't care how much you dislike the person IRL, flaming anyone on GLK, either in a thread or via PM, will result in an instaban.

All caps is frowned upon
Typing in all capitals is considered shouting. If you want to emphasize certain words in your post, capitalising that word is allowed - a whole post in capitals, however, will put you on the path to get banned.

New Multi-posting
Multi-posting is not allowed on this forum. Multi-posting is posting replies to a topic one after another. This usually happens when a member has made a post, and then needs to add additional information that was forgotten in that initial post. Instead of posting again, please use the "modify" link to modify your first post instead of creating a new post.

Multi-posting is allowed in extreme cases. E.g. if you need to bump an old post for a good reason, multi-posting is allowed. For things like live updates of a tournament, multi-posting is allowed to an extent.

Read RMF topics.
If a topic on a certain forum has the words Read Me First in it, you should read it. No, there are no exceptions. RMF topics are created by admins and mods, and always have something to do with the running of the site.

It's a signature, not a billboard.
The authorized sig size on GamerLK is currently 500x100. If you want graphics bigger than that, you can go put up your own web page. Huge signatures are distracting, and detract from the overall flow of the site. Also, no sexually explicit or graphic material in signatures, please. This is gaming site. For pr0n, go elsewhere.

Stay on topic.
Make sure that your reply has something to do with the topic of the thread. Posts that pass on personal messages, or make inside jokes will be deleted without warning. Posts that are completely offtopic will be nuked as well. If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say anything at all. Reading is just fine too, you don't have to reply to every thread.

It may seem like it, but the admins and mods are not in fact superheroes.
So yes, they do make mistakes. If you feel an admin or mod has genuinely done wrong by you in a policy decision, please contact Rav, riptide, Viktor and Onca (yes, all four of them) via private message and let them know. The relevant action will be reviewed, and if a change is needed it will be made.
