Xbox 360 wireless controller in MAC OS
« on: January 17, 2018, 01:17:19 pm »
I want to use my Xbox360 wireless controller to play games on my iMac.
Thinking of buying following 3rd party Xbox 360 wireless receiver for this purpose.
https://m.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PC-Wireless-Controller-Gaming-Receiver-Adapter-For-Microsoft-XBOX-360-White/382332421930?epid=1101622271&hash=item5904c9c72a:g:f9UAAOSwfjRaDkMS

There is Mac OS driver available for original Xbox 360 wireless receiver.
https://github.com/360Controller/360Controller/releases

But don’t know whether it will work with a 3rd party receiver.
Any body having such experience??

the one in that ebay link is not a legit Microsoft receiver right. i was also planning to buy myself one of those but decided not to as these knock offs seem to be having pairing and disconnecting issues according to some of the reviews by people who bought them. but  some say it works ok to them. so yea, its buy at your own risk. however i also found out, if u have a broken xbox 360 u could actually build your own receiver by using the one that came for the console. there were many guides with videos online.

Yes that’s not a original. The only reason to go for such is the cost concern. Anyway I’m thinking of giving it a chance. Will also look at DIY thing.
Thanks a lot for your info.
Will post my result once done.
