Gamer.LK Ranked | Project CARS Competitive Rules

The following are the game-specific rules for Gamer.LK Project CARS Ranked tournaments. These rules must be followed in conjunction with the General Competitive Rules of Gamer.LK Ranked Tournaments.

The General Competitive Rules can be found here. The general rules listed there apply to all gaming titles and all teams/players who register for any Gamer.LK Ranked Competitive tournament are expected to follow them.


The tournament bracket used (single elimination/double elimination/group stage) will be decided by the Organizer and announced on the Tournament Announcement posted on Gamer.LK. Gamer.LK will make every effort to have the most fair bracket but depending on time constraints this may change at the discretion of the Gamer.LK Staff. The Gamer.LK Ranking system will be used for the purpose of seeding to make the draws as and when needed. No other ranking will be considered.


All teams and players are encouraged to join the Sri Lanka Project Cars Community Facebook group to stay up-to-date with the latest information regarding the game and the local community.


3.1. - By submitting a registration for a Gamer.LK Ranked Project CARS tournament, all players acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules set herein and especially with the decisions made by the Gamer.LK Staff.

3.2. - All competitors are expected to know and understand all the rules described here. Not knowing that a rule existed or that it was in place will not be considered as an acceptable reason for breaking said rule.

3.3. - A player’s name, icon, profile picture or logo may not contain any of the following: profanities, obscene language, gang affiliation, drugs, sexual material, offensive material, slander of Gamer.LK or it’s administration, partners or sponsors.

4.5. - Tracks
The following locations and event lengths are approved for use in Gamer.LK Ranked | Project Cars tournaments. No others can be selected unless approved by Gamer.LK Tournament Staff before the event.

All rounds until the quarter finals will be played on the below mentioned track:
– Willow Springs International Raceway : 3 laps

From quarter finals onwards one of the following tracks will be selected based on a VETO system.
– Silverstone GP : 4 laps
– Imola : 4 laps
– Hockenheim GP : 4 laps
– Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca : 4 laps
– Willow Springs International Raceway : 4 laps
– Sakitto GP : 4 laps
– Spa-Francorchamps : 3 laps
– Nordschleife : 2 laps

A Coin toss will be used to determine who will start in the map-veto/pick process.


5.1. - Abuses & Exploitation
Exploiting game or map bugs/glitches/flaws (“exploits”) for the purposes of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited. Exploits that are not specifically named here are still prohibited but will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Gamer.LK Staff reserve the right to decide what will be deemed as an exploit or abuse.

5.2. - Use of Third Party Softwares
The use of 3rd party software that enhances performance (trainers) is illegal. Should a player be found using such software, he may be disqualified from the tournament. Any complaint regarding such matter should be made during the match, and will be dealt with after the race is completed.

5.3. - Track Cutting
Track cutting is illegal. These are defined as instances where a player can gain a time advantage by moving all 4 wheels off the track. Track cutting will be identified by the game itself. If a player gains a position or time advantage due to intentional track cutting, a drive through penalty may be implemented in the immediate next lap.

5.4. - Impersonations
Impersonating an eligible player by attempting to alias as them, using their Steam account or by any other method is prohibited and will result in the aliasing player and the player they are aliasing as being removed from the tournament.

5.5. - Unsportsmanlike Behavior
In the case of unsportsmanlike behavior in-game (e.g. ramming, collision, deliberate griefing) a drive through penalty may be implemented in the immediate next lap.
- If such an incident occurs on the final lap after the pit lane entrance has passed, the offending party will receive a 30-second time penalty, while the disadvantaged party will retain their position at the time of the incident.
- If hit from behind deliberately to spin the opponent in front out of track, a penalty of a 5-second time penalty be imposed.
- If the player in front slows down after a bump or a crash, they cannot block the player coming in from behind. If this happens, a 5-second time penalty will be imposed.

For an orderly and pleasant game it is essential that all players have a sporting and fair attitude. If Tournament Staff (Gamer.LK Referees) believe a player to be in breach of this rule then they will receive a formal warning (in addition to the relevant penalty), or in extreme cases, instant elimination. The race may be restarted if such incident occurs.


6.1. - End of Race
At the end of each match, the players must remain seated, remain at the victory/defeat screen and await a referee to record the results. Closing the victory/defeat screen without the replay being checked by a referee may result in a default loss.

6.2. - Disconnects
Since Project Cars tournaments are played online there could be instances where disconnections occur.
Disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to system, network, PC, and/or power problems/issues.
Intentional disconnection: any connection loss between opponents due to a player’s actions (to avoid losing or disrupt the match). The race may continue at the discretion of the Tournament Staff and upon judgment by the referee, the offending player may be charged with a default loss.
If a player disconnects during a match, the game is always re-hosted unless the dropped player would not have earned any points from their potential finishing position based on their performance in the match up to the point of disconnection.

6.3. - Pauses
If a player pauses a game they must state the reason for the interruption and how long it will approximately take to a Referee. The game can only be resumed by the player that paused the game at the discretion of the referees. Violations and abuse of this rule are handled as unsportsmanlike behavior and can lead to disqualification.

6.4. - Match Interruptions & Crashes, Bugs
If a player's controller crashes or a player disconnects or if the race is involuntarily interrupted due to a player crash, server crash, network failure, power failure, etc the game must always re-hosted.

6.4. - Unfair Play
The following actions will be considered unfair play:
1. the use of any cheat program
2. an intentional disconnection
3. the use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings
4. any “unnecessary chatting” during the match. “Unnecessary chatting” means any chatting other than the cases such as: greeting messages between the players; repeat of “P” to request for a pause during a stage match; a signal for the loss (i.e.: „gg‟, „GG‟, or any other message that the referee can use to decide the winner); chatting between players that does not violate the unsportsmanlike behavior clause; any message that the referee can judge as part of the game.
5. clearly allowing one’s opponent to win a match.
6. if a referee decides that external conditions (Press, Team Leader, Player, Spectator, etc) are giving or have given an unfair advantage to a player, the player may be given a warning or lose by default at the referee’s sole discretion.
7. unsportsmanlike behavior or, in general, disruptive (e.g., shouting), inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player (even inside the game).
8. the use of a program bug that is determined by the Tournament Staff as being unfair.
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the Tournament Staff, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss or, in extreme cases, be disqualified from the tournament.

6.5. - Game Settings Precautions
The teams‟ and players‟ abilities cannot be modified arbitrarily. Graphics and other settings may only be setup through the menu. (Configuration file cannot be used). Players on both sides must select the options before they begin the game. The match result will be accepted even if the players, during or after the match, find out each others' settings were different from the official settings.

6.6. - Collusion Policy
Collusion is defined as any agreement among two or more Players to disadvantage other Players in the Competition. Collusion between Players is strictly prohibited.
Examples of collusion include, but are not limited to:
- Intentionally losing a match for any reason, either during Online Qualification or at Live Events.
- Playing on behalf of another competitor, including using a secondary account, to aid them in Online Qualification or Live Events.
- Any form of match-fixing.
- Agreeing to split prize money.
