So I've been keeping an eye on my internet usage for the past month and from what the numbers show, I seem to be using an average of 1.75GB during daytime use.

Now this is baffling since I barely download anything during my usage. I first thought that this was due to me playing a crap load of BF1, but on the days I didn't play BF1, I still managed to use up like 1.2GB. Then I thought Snapchat was the problem, since I do use it a fair bit and to test it out I've stopped using it as well but once I checked the data usage, it amounts to the same 1.4ish GB a day.

I'm on Dialog 4G atm. What are your opinions? How do I sort this out? Does casual browsing use up this much of data?

use a data usage tracker like DU meter. Then track what eats out the data.
And use a bandwidth limiter like netlimiter to limit excessive data.

If you have any facebook apps on your phones get rid of all of them. Apparently there are reports of them using excessive data in the background for no explained reason.

So I've done 15 mins of browsing and I've already used up 310MB. Is this normal?

I have the dialog 4g as well. And it used to eat out data within a small period when I'm browsing, on fb, or even when on you tube.
Now I use the netlimer to limit the bandwith while on internet. limited google to 150 KB/s.

I used DU Meter to get the value. Seems using Google eats up a lot of data. YouTube not so much. Will get NetLimiter ASAP. Thanks for your help.

You'd be surprised at how much normal everyday browsing takes. I (Personally) use 1 GB a day on a normal day, and the rest of the family uses quite a bit too.

I usually limit youtube (takes a lot), and I use reddit a lot (lots of GIFS that take a lot of MB).

As long as you're using some Monitoring tool you can check and keep yourself in line I use Glasswire but DU Meter is fine too
