Does your "work reason" need such a powerful cpu and so much RAM?

Depends on the usage scenario of work. I wish if my PC supported more RAM.

I use my PC to analyze unclustered data and all tools combined uses around 20-26GB.

I wont even pretend like i know what that means, but isnt 32gb of ram a tad bit overkill.... i dont think ud hardly notice a difference between 16gb and 32gb

Depends on your workload. Gaming? Probably not. Image editing? Not unless you have dozens of 4K files open in Photoshop and Illustrator. 4K Video rendering and 3D Modeling? You couldn't run out of RAM faster if you threw it out the window.

Yes. Im a developer. Running vm's with multiple OS is a requirement to test products in real-time.

Depends on work. If your running VM's yes its a very noticeable difference.

Gaming is secondary. Only play overwatch atm rofl. But yeah its for VM operations to keep each vm about 3-4Gig ram.

It's extremely beneficial to have as much spare RAM as possible if you run multiple VMs. You never know when you need to run one or two more for extra testing.

its a good combo, especially the processor and the ram for your vm needs. intel xeons might be worth a look at as well. also you might need to invest in a good tier 1 power supply considering your investment.

i'm in the same situation running multiple vms. i'm feeling the quad core limit pretty hard :(

You can eat through 32Gbs very fast if you are working on distributed computing or data science fields.

just a little opinion here
why not go with this Intel Xeon E5 2620 v4 2.1Ghz 8-Core Processor (LGA 2011-3)
4k more for 2 cores but its older and is a server processor
Such destruction, much waste, such wow , console is better than pc
