SLeSA verdict on incidents that occurred at SLCG 2015
« on: December 08, 2015, 02:47:20 am »
A special meeting of the Sri Lanka eSports Association was held to discuss the matters that took place on the 29th of November 2015 at SLCG, BMICH.

The following organisations had representation at the meeting:
  • Gamer.LK
  • Tech Morph
  • Xiphos eSports
  • Maximum eSports
  • Phoenix Gaming
  • n00b Alliance
  • IIG
  • Wolfgang

A vote was called on what action should be taken in each case. Clans voted for the action they thought most appropriate in response to the incidents that took place, and the action with the highest votes was chosen.

In-appropriate crowd behaviour during matches
In light of Abith "PnX | LeoN" Latiff's behaviour, he has been banned from the next immediate ranked tournament. Also a public apology to the community, as well as a direct apology to team Vicious and Delicious will be given. On an organisational level, Gamer.LK has decided to revoke his staff position for a period of 6 months.

Physical altercations
- Viraj "TM | Juliet" Madushan has been banned for a period of 1 year from all ranked tournaments for assaulting another player.

- Lahiru "PnX | Rooster" de Silva has also been banned for a period of 6 months for being involved in/instigating a physical altercation.

Moving forward, action taken for code of conduct breaches will be based on a set of rules to be put together at a future date by the association. The punishments meted out here may not necessarily be the basis for any future punishments to be given out after the code of conduct is in place.

Let this be a good lesson, and a turning point for how rivalries are handled in the local eSports scene in future.

Following the events which occurred during the 3rd day of SLCG, I am writing my sincere apology for disrupting the tranquility of the event.

First and foremost, I apologize to Gamer.LK as an official of the community for behaving imbalanced with sync to the heat of the situation. As a senior member, my behavior was beyond modesty and I regret what I said at that point as a member of Gamer.LK.

Secondly I apologize to x3.Vicious & Delicious team for any inconvenience caused at that time. As a leader of another clan, it was over the limit for me to come so close towards the players and shout despite the fact that I believed the match was over. I regret my behavior at that point and I apologize for any disruptions.

I have agreed without hesitation for the penalty enforced by Gamer.LK and I will control my behavior accordingly to the code of conduct in future tournaments.

On a quick response I think I should comment EGS' comment on the previous thread.

These take place in every sports, its so common in School Big matches, Rugby matches, Football and even among players. They take place during the game n once the game is over they forget its not a big issue to make it a humongous issue.

I respectfully disagree.

E-sports is emerging and we as GLK are very proud to be at the forefront of it. And I for one know very well the effort the whole team has taken through out over 8 years to get to the point it is now. As others have mentioned Yes, these things have happened over the past years and it only barred us down, the attention we built in the local community, the efforts we took, the reputation we built and for what? ... absolutely nothing. We want e-sports to be a respectable not tolerable.

I'm glad that the verdict was truth and just. And yes it is necessary if gaming as a whole is to be taken seriously and forward. Losing tempers, assaulting others and provoking players are ugly displays of behaviour.
