Sri Lanka Cyber Games '15 was held on the 27th, 28th and 29th November at the BMICH. It was the largest gathering of eSports enthusiasts in Sri Lanka. The community was able to witness some of the most passionate, dedicated and competitive cyber-athletes battle it out to reach the coveted championship titles. As with any sport, tensions run high during the tournament and rivalries are played out ingame, on the virtual battlefield.

There were two incidents that we as tournament organisers have to address.

In-appropriate crowd behaviour during matches
eSports is a spectator sport.  However, there are limits to what is acceptable and what is not from spectators. It is the opinion of Gamer.LK management that the behaviour shown by the crowd on Sunday was unacceptable. Gamer.LK seniors will be taking action on a 3-point action plan:

1) National-level action
Gamer.LK will table the discussion of this incident at the next Sri Lanka eSports Association meeting, at which all clan heads have representation.

2) Organisation-level action
The incident will be handled internally as several GLK referees were involved. The exact action to be taken will be discussed internally.

3) Regulations
A code of conduct for spectators will be put together, so that spectators know exactly where the line is drawn between what is OK and what is not

Inter-clan rivalries leading to physical altercations
Physical violence against any individual is not allowed at any Gamer.LK events and all members directly involved in the incident will be punished. The exact punishment will be discussed internally by Gamer.LK and published when a decision has been made.

With these incidents, Gamer.LK's integrity has been questioned by the vocal minority in the community. Gamer.LK would not like to dignify these individuals and their rumors with a response.

With eSports in Sri Lanka growing faster than ever before, it is important that the community falls in line to support tournaments and organisations in whatever way they can. This includes respecting tournament organisers, referees and the sporting culture that comes with eSports. Without this respect, it will be a difficult task for eSports to be taken seriously as a sport, and we as a community will be considered nothing more than a marketing gimmick to attract youth for corporations. We believe eSports is more than that. Please work with us hand in hand to strengthen eSports and the sportmanship that comes along with it in future. Gamer.LK will continue its efforts to build eSports in Sri Lanka as we have been doing for the past 8 years.

I believe you have already been informed regarding this. My account of the incident is second hand anyway. Anyways, I trust you guys to work out a proper course of action to the issues at hand

As you said, eSports in Sri Lanka is growing really fast with a lot of money coming in and the larger corporations are realizing there is money to be made here. Therefore it's important that the community itself doesn't get abused and the competition doesn't suffer as a result of corporate lackeys trying their best to make their payday.

i think more people will help if this happens anyways waiting for the decision

These take place in every sports, its so common in School Big matches, Rugby matches, Football and even among players. They take place during the game n once the game is over they forget its not a big issue to make it a humongous issue.
