Is it possible to download the official Win 10 iso, install onto a machine with the Win 10 generic key and afterwards register with a legit Win 8 key? I heard that the same process can be used to migrate from Win 8 ---> Win 8.1, but will that work on Win 10?

It can be done or you can upgrade and reset for a clean installation.. That what I did to my desktop and notebook, cause some old programmers might not be compatible..

Wonder what will happen if you try to upgrade Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10 if you had already upgraded once...

Upgrade and reset is not an option bcoz at the moment my machine is not "legit", but i do own an win 8 original key. So my only option is to enter the generic win 10 key and once in, then activate with original Win 8 key using slmgr. Can someone confirm this please.

I think you will have to disable Internet before attempting this. It will try to activate when you enter the key when installing Windows and fail because they key won't activate.

Charge the key of Windows 8 to the legit one and upgrade from there. It doesn't seem like it is upgrading though. If it did, it would have taken a long time but it doesn't take long so it could be almost like a clean install. Just tell it not to preserve any user files or settings. It won't delete anything on a separate partition.

It's aroudn 3GB I think.

And I'm talking about my Wifi Adapter dongle, the thing I used to connect to my routers Wifi (SLT). Not a 3G Dongle.

But then again, there's a chance your dongle might not work if the drivers aren't supported.
