« on: September 15, 2013, 08:27:24 pm »
My PSU broke down damaging my 2 vga cards.  HD 6670 and HD 7750. AS a result the warranty is void. So pls tell me place to repair them. They are only  few weeks used  :( :(

Just go to ur vendor n give it for warranty RMA, saying that they arent working. Dont even dare to open up ur mouth to say that ur PSU has toasted them. Keep your fingers crossed try ur luck. U may get a replacement.

Its a better thing to do first than trying to repair it :) (Y)

^^ Exactly... Act like you dont know about PSU's and graphic cards and all... Put in a new PSU, and then go and tell them you tried playing a game and it didnt work... THey'll say the VGA is gone, and try and claim warranty.

Oh god this is evil and wrong.

This is why you should buy a good PSU. Where did you buy these from? If it was Redline, bring them over anyway. We will send it over to the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

I think,
If there are no any physical damages like burn marks or scratches or sort of things can be identified with out dissembling it (I guess).
Normally they will or should RMA it.

He got the VGA card from India and the PSU from Pettah ;D

He can get a replacement for the PSU but its the VGA he has a problem with. He has to go to India to claim warranty.

Dont fall for people like Dave computer care who would say that they can repair your vga, you have no chance of doing a repair of thing like that.

Have you tried the cards on a different computer ?

I do not know much about repairing VGAs,
But If the gpu and memory chips like much delicate and rare parts are not damaged,
I think a good electronic repair shop or a man who can under take repairing new advanced electronic devices (LCD TVs, Mobile phones) might could fix it.
But I do not sure about this.
(Normally some parts used in PC stuff like solid capes , better chokes like stuff are very rarely used on other advanced digital-electronic appliance).
