Season 1 of the Gamer.LK Clans Counter Strike League comes to an end after an amazing month of clan battles. GLK is proud to have been involved in the first ever online Counter Strike tournament in Sri Lanka, and hope to make GCCL a biannual event. Season 1 showed how active the online gaming scene in Sri Lanka has become. It had it's ups and downs, but on the whole it set a very strong foundation for the future of competitive gaming in Sri Lanka. The next iterations of GCCL will be bigger and better.

A big thank you goes out to:

• All the clans that took part! The competitive atmosphere and the sportsmanship shown by each clan was outstanding.
• The referees. Thank you to xearon, blaze!, intruder, archangel and cipher who helped out with refereeing clan matches throughout the season. We couldn't have done it without you guys
• The community. The idea for a SL CS tournament came from the forums, and it became reality thanks to you guys. All the support shown by the community was enormous - the respect of the community you gain from winning GCCL trumps any kind of material award we at GLK can put together.

GCCL Season 1 is over. Now onto SLCG 2008

GCCL was the first ever CS tournament for me and for our clan. It was really great, had lot of fun, gained a good experience on playing CS tournaments and lot more.

I'd like to thank the GLK staff for delivering such a wonderful event for us.

The GCCL was the first ever real competitive CS tourney organized in SL. Except for the few factors that affected some clans, like network problems (which would probably exist in an online tourney) this is the best ever gaming tourney in Srilanka. Very well organized! Goof Good job GLK.
