Nobody gave them a hand. f*** UBI! They were like corpse flies. Someone could have lended them the funds to run, if one studio doesn't help another then who eles would?Anyway this is a big red light saying gaming industry is a train coming down from the hill.. After another 4~5 years there won't be any favourite studios of ours left. EA, UBI will survive the crysis.. I'll stop gaming when I hear CDPROJECT RED is dead.. There's no point beyond that..RIP THQ.. Once life time isn't enough to thank you for giving me a free copy of metro before you died.. Amen..
Clearly you have no idea how the gamedev industry is run. Studios have no money of their own. Publishing corporations pay for everything. And here's the word: CORPORATIONS. They don't lend money to rivals. They buy and sell IPs. Sadly, gamedev is business, not charity, especially since the budgets for "normal" games that we play add upto to over $50 million each and take upto three years to develop. To me THQ is just a publisher, not a studio. What matters is the collection of all these great game studios under the THQ name, so I hope whoever buys them, they end up making great games AND money to finance their next project. Good luck to every one of them.
You're right about everything there. So did piracy pushed them to closing or because of their own problems?
