GCCL servers are up
The GCCL rules are heavily influenced by the Cyberathlete Amature League Counter Strike rules. Please read through this entire thread so that you and your team know the rules and your rights.COMMUNICATING SERVER DETAILSGCCL Match server information and passwords will be sent via the Gamer.LK PM (Private Message) system, and over the phone, where a contact number has been provided. We kindly request clan Leaders to check their PMs about 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Server IP and password will be sent to the clan leaders (or the person who registered the clan for GCCL). Passwords will not be communicated via any other means for any reason, and therefore its the clan leaders (or the person who registered clan) responsibility to give the Server IP n password to their teammates.DEFINITIONSHALF: One 15 round session on a given map.MATCH: One map consisting of two halves where each team plays once as Counter-Terrorist and Terrorist.ROUND: A cycle on a map with a length of 1 minute and 45 seconds as determined by a server-side cvar of "mp_roundtime 1.75".LEADER: The player listed as leader on the registration, or any player who is officially acting as team leader in the absence of their actual team leader. Teams are required to notify the opposing team pregame who their leader will be for the duration of the match.SUSPENSION: A penalty issued by GLK on an individual, a group of individuals or an entire team. Any player that receives a suspension from GLK/GCCL will be notified of such via GLK's private messaging system.PLAYER RULESPlayers competing in GCCL must adhere to the following rules at all times. Team management and/or leadership is responsible for ensuring that all members of their team understand and follow these rules set forth hereafter. At no time will ignorance of these rules be considered a valid defense. Teams that violate these rules are subject to penalties ranging from suspension of individual players or teams up to removal of a team or player from the league (suspension/ban). If you do not understand these rules clearly, it is your responsibility to make sure you get help from a GLK administrator so that you do.SPORTSMANSHIPAll registrants are required to display the highest standards of conduct and observe common sportsmanship at all times. Profanity, harassment, derogation of one's religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender, defamation of GamerLK, the GCCL, their staff or affiliates, public cheating accusations, and/or other unsportsmanlike conduct, whether during or not during match play, will not be tolerated and may result in the suspension of offending player(s).PLAYER PROFILESAll players are required to use their "handles" as submitted in the registration form for official matches. Failure to comply may result in a match overturn and/or suspension of offending player(s).CLIENT VARIABLESNo Client Variables (CVARs") that yield an unfair advantage are allowed in match play. These CVARs include, but are not limited to, any commands that alter weather, alter the effectiveness of smoke/flash grenades, remove or lessen ambient sounds, modify textures to an extent that would yield an unfair advantage, modify lighting to an extent that would yield an unfair advantage, make any solid object or surface see-through or invisible or modify hitboxes and/or player movement in an unfair way. Interpretation of the legality of CVARs is left to the discretion of GCCL administrators. Any use of restricted CVARs may result in a match overturn and/or suspension of offending player(s).Changing any cvars that affect the game's visuals/graphics, or otherwise trigger materials / textures to be reloaded, is illegal. Additionally, when / if a player reconnects, or otherwise connects at a time during which the match is already underway, changing any such cvars is illegal.MESSAGINGOnly acting team leaders are permitted to use public in-game messaging (messagemode1) during match play. Non-team leaders must use team chat only (messagemode2) during match play. Messagemode1 (MM1) is not to be used to engage in harassment or unsportsmanlike conduct against an opponent at any time during match play. Under extreme cases, infraction may result a match overturn and/or suspension of offending player(s). Examples of such inappropriate conduct include but are not limited to extreme antagonism or racism. Screenshots should be taken of any and each violation, and in the event of a match dispute, they will be required.CUSTOM SPRAYSThe use of custom sprays (anything otherwise not included by default in a Counter-Strike install) is generally considered acceptable if and ONLY if it meets the following guidelines:It does not contain racism or prejudice and is otherwise not immediately offensive and could not be reasonably seen as such;It does not resemble a character or weapon model, bombsite logo, explosion mark, or anything of a similar nature; It is not made and/or used with the specific intent of creating contrast (such as plain white on the other side of a dark area), and;It is not of an otherwise obviously exploitative nature. The presence of a custom spray is NOT grounds for dispute and possible subsequent suspension and/or overturn in and of itself; in all cases, league administration will make the final ruling on whether a particular spray or instance of a spray is illegal. If you have doubts about whether your spray is allowed, it is up to you to contact an administrator to receive clarification and/or judgment.Use of a spray deemed illegal under this section will result in the suspension of the offending player(s) and possible match penalties against the offending team as determined by GCCL officials.PLAYERSFive on five or four on five play is allowed. The use of non-registered, suspended, or otherwise ineligible players in a GCCL match is not allowed under any circumstances. Doing so will result in a suspension or extended suspension of the individual in question, suspension of relevant team management, and may result in match overturn.VOICE COMMUNICATIONThe use of the in-match voice communication software is the preferred form of voice communication. Other types of voice communication software are allowed to be used as well.SUBSTITUTIONSAs in all sports, substitutes are allowed. Furthermore, substitutions may be made at any time during the match. In the case of a substitution, the member that is being subbed OUT must leave the server BEFORE THE ROUND IS OVER/ PRIOR to when the member subbing IN arrives into the server. This prevents unbalanced teams during a substitution. Substitutes must have been on the GCCL registration submission and no exceptions will be permitted at any time. Therefore there is NO TIME where there should ever be 6 players from the same team in the server.CHOOSING SIDESSides will be chosen via a team vs team knife round. During this round, NOTHING can be bought - this includes armour and grenades. Both teams will rush to a spot chosen by the GCCL admin and start the knife fight. The team that has atleast one member standing wins the knife round and can choose the side.PAUSING A MATCHUnless requested by a GCCL official, no match is to be paused in the middle of a round. The only time a match is to be paused is in the event of a lag out. If a lag out occurs during a round, the round is to be finished and the match paused during the freezetime of the next round. Match may only be paused for no longer than 5 minutes and no more than 2 times per half of the match.CALLING THE MATCHMatches will be played until one team reaches 16 rounds won, at which time the match is complete. In the event of a dispute and rounds being overturned, matches will resume at the overturned score and to be played until a team wins 16 rounds. (i.e. After Team A wins 16-5, Team B files an exploit dispute which results in 3 rounds being overturned, leaving a match score of 13-8. The two teams will be required to reschedule and resume play, starting with that score. The OT config should be used for these situations.)NUMBER OF MAPSPrelims and Division ARound One - 1 map: de_dust2Round Two - 1 map: de_nukeRound Three - 1 map: de_infernoRound Four - 1 map: de_trainRound Five (Winners Bracket Semi-Final 1) - 3 maps: de_tuscan, de_inferno, de_dust2Round Five (Loser bracket) - 1 map: de_infernoRound Six (Losers bracket) - 1 map: de_trainRound Seven (Losers bracket Pre Semi-Final) - 3 maps: de_tuscan, de_inferno, de_dust2Round Eight (Losers Bracket Semi-final 2) - 3 maps: de_tuscan, de_inferno, de_dust2Grand Finals - 3 maps: de_tuscan, de_train, de_dust2DIV BTBAA Wildcard map is one that is not announced prior to the match taking place. Wildcards maps are chosen by GCCL admins.VETO CHOICEThe map selection for the group stage and Division A of GCCL will work on a veto choice basis. There will be a pool of five maps (de_dust2, de_nuke, de_tuscan, de_train and de_inferno) that teams will be able to "veto" (ban) one by one. Each team will be allowed to veto two maps. The team that loses the knife round (team 1) will get to veto the first map. Team 2 will then veto another map, followed by Team 1 veto'ing their second map and then finally Team 2 veto'ing their final map. After both teams have veto'd two maps each, the remaining map is the one that will be played for that match.BOMB PLANTING AND DEFUSINGIt is legal to plant in hidden areas or in areas not normally reached through the use of boosting or jumping outside of the normal bomb zone as long as it is possible to defuse the bomb through normal means, including the use of boosting, to reach the bomb; such a plant is still legal even if there are too few Counter-Terrorists to boost or otherwise reach the bomb to defuse if the assistance of another individual is required. Under NO circumstances are silent plants allowed; whether accidentally or intentionally, a silent plant will result in the forfeiture of 3 rounds by the offending team.If the bomb is planted in such a way that it is obscured from view from all angles (such as planting to have the bomb hidden entirely by a crate), the same penalty will apply. It is illegal to defuse the bomb without seeing a piece of it and/or masking the defusal sound by turning on your flashlight while defusing. A penalty of 3 rounds overturned to the other team will occur.BOOSTINGPlayer boosting is legal with any number of players. Any area that can be reached on the map is considered a valid position as long as the position is not used to exploit the map by seeing into areas that are not intended (IE: Boosting onto the ledge on catwalk of de_dust2 and jumping up and down in order to see catwalk or longA without having a direct view of them)Map "glitches" such as boosting through an object to cross solid boundaries (IE: The hut's roof on de_nuke and through the roof in sewers on de_cpl_mill) are never to be used in competition.USE OF SHIELDThe tactical shield is NOT to be used in any GCCL match. If one is accidentally purchased, it is to be dropped in a corner in your spawn area and not touched for the remainder of the round. The use of a shield will result in the forfeiture of the entire match.FLASHBANG EXPLOITSUnder no circumstances are flashbangs to be used in such a manner that they affect parts of the map that should not be flashed; examples from the past include the crate flash on de_dust2 that affects the B-site tunnels.OTHER EXPLOITS"Stuck Grenades" as possible on various parts of de_dust2 and other maps are also to be avoided.MOVEMENT EXPLOITSCrouch running is legal.MAP MOVEMENT EXPLOITSThis section would include the surfing that is done on maps against the walls to move across the map silently and quickly. The best example of this would be on de_nuke in the lower bombsite halls where players are able to jump on the green pipes and surf down the long hall without making any noise. This is illegal and will result in the overturn of 3 rounds. There are other maps in which you are able to surf along walls and this is also illegal.SERVER CRASHESIf a server crashes before 3 rounds have been completed, the server must be restarted, and the score should be considered 0-0. If the server crashes during or after the 4th round then the server is to be restarted, but the scores from the previous rounds will be retained.MATCH TIMEA grace period of 15 minutes is allotted past the agreed-upon match time. After 16 minutes have passed, the match may commence in 4 vs. 5 play.HALFTIMEAfter finishing the first half of the match, teams are allowed an optional 10-minute break if either desires one.TIES/OVERTIMEIn the event of a final regulation score of 15-15, overtime(s) is/are to be played to determine the winner.Overtime consists of two 3-round halves and is to be repeated if necessary. Overtime is to be reported as 16-15 to the team that wins in overtime.
