for AXLE this is the start in SL. here in GLK you get comments from real axle users. did you hear any bad about it ???
as D4R mentioned ASUS is the best. (that's why i bought GTX560  :P). if you can go for ASUS that's the best you can get. if not i think AXLE is worth trying.

the nvidia chipset and drivers are made to automatically increase the fan speed only when the card reach 70 c or more most of the time ... its normal in most of the nvidia cards ...

but if you dont like that you can simply use a gpu tuning utility to automatically set the fan speed to be increased at certain heat levels ... i use evga precision but you can use msi after burner too ...

i'm using msi afterburner to monitor GPU temp, fan speed, other speeds and stuff not for overclock!!
