This is what make people like Ubisoft make Bloody DRM even the people pays can't play the games.

Please tell me where has UbiSoft (or any other AAA game publisher for that matter) treated SL as a valid market? From what it looks like they don't even seem to know SL exists.
You cannot blame piracy unless you make your games available and market them properly in a country.

I don't really want to make argument but people in srilanka buy the hardware components for the same price right? Actually bit higher than what we pay. So why not software.

What you say is true to a certain extent, although hardware does get some marketing through sub dealers ,vendors etc. However what I meant is you cannot really blame anyone for pirating when publishers themselves make zero effort to sell their product here. It's as if they don't care.
If they opened stored which sold physical copies of genuine games at reasonable prices, at least a few more people would buy it. But now all you can see on the streets are pirated games. It's so rampant most people believe what they purchase for Rs100 is legit.

Unless you raise awareness, enforce reasonable pricing, increase availability and do some marketing, you won't really reduce piracy in SL. And I doubt people can be blamed for pirating when things are like this either.

I supported you because your concept was right but doesn't suit to every country. I wish they can provide special pricing to us. Then we will stop piracy.

Still US people googles which free antivirus is good or microsoft is enough?

Since i have lived and worked in US and Srilanka i will say legit game price in US is darn cheap according to our wages considering to 3rd world. It is really like paying 100bucks  in srilanka.

It's so rampant most people believe what they purchase for Rs100 is legit.

For movies in my brothers house every one think those 100rupees are legit.  i have no idea how they are enjoying that in 32inch 1080p screen. when ever i show them the quality of full hd (Downloaded ) they are not amazed as i expected. May be there eyes.

this point is not valid... when u buy a hi-end PSU ..u use it for over 2 years..same with RAM.. where u get a lifetime warranty if it goes wrong... whenu buy a VGA u use it for atleast 1-1.5 years before buying a new one

and all these hardware CAN BE SOLD second hand...

Now.. u cant play a game for 2 years can u ? if u were forced to buy hardware on a monthly basis I bet people would try a way to pirate the shit out of it too ?

Also can u sell a steam downloaded game again ? NO

so how can anyone justify spending over 7.5k on a game in a country like Sri Lanka ? and to discard it after u done playing in about a couple of weeks & spend another 7k in week after next ? thats over 14k per month

when Microsoft lowered their pricing for Asia for W8,,I bought it..so did a lot others..Hell I've not even installed it..but i bought it..why because it was afirdable

Make the games more affordable in certain regions depending on the region & there'll be more buyers for originali games..

u r correct...almost all the people I know r now using genuine AV software now..most uses Kaspersky because thats the most available one..just shows that if u made original games available at a reasonable price gamers will buy.. seriously if Bioshock infinity was available for 2k would u not buy it ? Seriously ?

Well for me, I used to play pirated games but from awhile now I moved to genuine. I buy all my xbox games from places like ebay but for PC i go for digital.
Main problems with SL and PC gaming is the lack of availability as I see it. Its true we have digital copies but we don't have proper internet connections :/ Thats why I buy the license from Steam or someplace and buy the files from Lion
The way I see, Lion is doing a great service. Even though it's piracy, he's the fastest person I know to get games and the most reasonable guy.
Its just my opinion but guys, why not we continue this discussion in some other thread and leave Lion in peace? Hope you all get what Im saying

cough we do buy original games -_- i started this whole thing because places like MC and other places selling pirate game for such a huge price that can actually use to buy original games .. they are the one suld get arrested -D since the ea indian origin site came games for cheap lot of ppl bought games .,  the thing is ppl like bigshot like big rich guys who have everytin to buy for can talk like that .. and abt ubisoft about anti DRM its there own fault.. it dsnt sell the game who really want to buy the game will buy eventaully others wont !  look how simcity failed ..  Witcher 2 Devs Removed DRM and there selles went way higher !  ubisoft later realised and dropped drm from future games as well ..
