Now about your questions:
Having played this game since 2008 and leveling couple of chars to level cap(70 back then) and getting them to Kara, Grull, vashj and BT I know a thing or two about wow. And its world is not huge as you might think there are mmorpg's that dwarves wow in size in comparison.

About the population, I don't care about it really, I just hang around with my guildies and running couple of ICC heroics and most importantly having fun. I'm just trying to help someone who asked a question, thats all. Anyway as I stated early that server is quite new and I see couple of new faces each day.

Thats all I have to say. Now go back to your uber retail and come showing off here more and more

gamingconsortium.org is da only server where the gms use their own scripts unlike other servers who just copy,yes gamingconsortium has less ppl dats cus dat server is not recognized and all of them in dat r hardcore pvp ppl and raid boss r scripted just like in blizzard ask me i hav played in both retail and pvt gamingconsortium is da only server close to blizz like.

Agreed, Gaming consortium is a nice server too, I saw they have opened ulduar and couple of heroics that are closed in many pservers. But what turned me away from that server was this : 100mbit ethernet link  . It's more likely that the server will start lagging like hell when player count exceeds 300-400.

I honestly don't understand why you guys are talking about unpopular servers even though there is hardcore PvP or custom scripts or random bull in it.

WoW is a social game and unless you have a bunch of friends (Around 10-20) that are willing to play with you every time you play, do not bother going into servers with low populations. Why? You'll get bored and that ruins the entire experience of WoW.

Another thing, want to play cataclysm? Go retail. Cata won't be fully scripted for a long time, and most servers are still fixing bugs on WoTLK, so you can imagine when Cata will come.

Want to play the Burning Crusade? Sure...You can play the burning crusade WITHIN WoTLK. Don't waste your time on servers that have prehistoric game versions, when you can have a bug free experience on WoTLK servers. On the other hand if your a retail player with WoTLK issues then sure, i have nothing against you. If you're new to WoW, then WoTLK for god's sake!

Want to experience the best of free WoW there is right now, including minimum bugs, great socialization and a great first-time gameplay experience.

You have to be KIDDING ME!? They switched to Trinity from their Moonlapse!? :S Their moonlapse was the best damn core around. Damn Blizzard <_<

WOW!!! fight for WotLK servers ehh? as usual like in all private server forums , Guys I need some help downgrading my patch to 3.5.5a from Cata (4.0.1) but I dont want to download the whole thing again... Isnt there some easy way like Warcraft3 version switcher or something? Any help appreciated..

So after a shit ton of reading the forums and reading other forums, I found out what happened. In a nut shell there was a guy called Hogger who was a developer on GD and is by the way 45 years old and a experienced system administrator, he had the password to the database and completely erased everything held on the player database and ran away with the donation information.

He did this because according to him he wanted to teach a lesson to all those people who play WoW and live more in their virtual lives than they do in real life, since he considers himself to be some kind of self-made superhero to bring about salvation to wow addicted nerds. What a dumb-f*****-jack-f*****-ass.

Kain on the other hand should be blamed as well, since he messed up the back up process, lost the backups that were held on the other HDDs and now has everyone starting their chars from scratch.

This has led to a huge amount of people leaving Gamer District since they lost all their donation gear and other gear they spent days to farm and gain and horde being terribly overloaded and basically the factions are imbalanced.

There is also another issue concerning the donations and that Kain is pocketing the money like what happened during the "WoWScape" scenario, but I think I need a MBA in Business Finance to understand the crackpot laws they are talking about in broken english.

So basically, Gamer District is dead. Hogger hacked it and the dev that worked for years on the server has left as well (Durden). So no point playing on GD again.

Time to try other servers!

I want to give a gaming consortium a chance, but there's only 100 people online right now and it has 1x XP rates? Are all the quests fixed? Holy shit...But seriously I don't mind playing in any server as long as I have people to run around with.

Guys its me again, I got WOTLK now and is downloading the patches (2.33GB) So I need a server which is 1x rates in all areas (Extreme Blizzlike No changes) , bug free (atleast 95%) and a populated one to do dungeons from level 20...... If there are any please let me know and thanks in advance....

LOK'TAR, For the Horde!

Unfortunately servers with  totally blizzlike settings  + less bugged don't have great population. I think it's due to fun servers attracting more players these days. I can recommend couple of servers matching your criteria.

http://bloodcraft.no-ip.org - used to have decent population(1k at peak) like an year ago but  I hear it's on the decline due to lag issues, old bugs not getting fixed etc.
http://truewow.org/ - Rising blizzlike server 750+ players at peak. Decent ping but don't have own developers so they totally depend on trinity core.
http://www.gamingconsortium.org/ - Active developers, more fixes- they're working on fully working ulduar atm. Offer char xfer from other servers. One of the least bugged servers I've ever seen. Sadly population is not too great.(300+ at peak if you're lucky)
http://www.centurionwow.com/ - only 3 months old, good ping, have couple of devs, too early to comment but I think it has a good future.(I play here - lvl 80 Orc shaman, for the horde )
http://wow.dethpod.com/ Mature server - running since 2008 or so, 400-500 players at peak, looks like they have active devs and fixes.
These are blizzlike(1x all)

A bit less blizzlike servers
http://www.omegawow.eu/ - midrate server(3x), located in germany and least ping for SL(around 160ms), 1k players online at peak. Running since 2006 as I remember.
http://www.gamer-district.com/ - 7x rates, Mangos core, good ping they had an account wipe recently though.
