Seriously, it's a game. Grow up. As outlined in my recent ban hammer thread, personal insults / threats will not be tolerated on GLK. Banned for 10 days. Take the time to cool down, and perhaps grow up.

That game is from an early KPGA Tour / Winner's League I think. It's MBC anyway, so definitely not an OSL. A good game, but if you want to see true gutsy play from Boxer, look below.

Lim Yo Hwan and Hong Jin-Ho had a fierce rivalry that culminated in the EVER 2004 Semi-Final, which is widely acknowledged as one of the most epic series Boxer ever played (second perhaps only to the final itself, and a few other series, which we will look at, in good time).

Triple bunker rushed. Yes, 3 - 0. That was never done before, and has never been done again.

People who have Bnet cd keys, sign up asap. If you are in the US / Europe, you will get to test this earlier. Btw, someone give Rav an extra bnet key so he can test it. He's in England atm, as you all know. I need mine for when Asia is given betas.

WCG Sri Lanka / Re: Korea : A Case Study for Sri Lanka
« on: May 08, 2009, 03:50:21 pm »
One of the things I dislike the most about the Internet is that people sum up whole arguments based on a few facts they have gathered from somewhere online.

- Yes, parents may play MMOs now, but that was obviously not always the case.
- No, you are wrong, our cultures (Korea and Sri Lanka) are remarkably alike. Both are pretty conservative, and parents of the first generation of professional Korean gamers DID NOT think that gaming was a viable past time.
- Korea is HUGELY family oriented. In fact, older gamers in the scene are called Hyung, just like we would say Ayya. Gamers' parents are always at big matches (you wont see this much in the west), and players almost always mention their parents as influences in interviews. It is a typical Eastern culture, just like ours.

This extract is taken from the biography of Lim Yo Hwan, perhaps the most famous progamer of all time.

Because I had devoted my entire time to gaming while my friends studied vigorously, there was no way that my scores were up to standard. Even though I had expected this result, I was speechless. Though I didnít think that one piece of paper could determine my future, the paper was indicating that I had spent my time in other things than my studies. If this was disappointing even to me, how much more was it for my parents? I had completely destroyed the expectations that my parents had on their only son. I was extremely remorseful. When my mom registered me in the academy in Noryang-Jin, I couldnít tell her that I wouldnít go to college. Itís because I didnít have any specific plans for anything else, and I had no reason to not go to college. And so I began to prepare myself again.

So um, yeah, Lim Yo Hwan's (Boxer, for the uninitiated) parents were definitely not WoW players. The gamers you speak of, like 99% of gamers in Korea, are all byproducts of a post-Boxer era.

We can put things down to culture and say they will never change, or we can take a step like those first Koreans did, and make a change. Putting our lack of organisation, lack of unity, and lack of commitment on cultural differences is nothing more than just taking the easy way out.

BTW Rip nice to have you active again :)

Nice to see you around as well. Hope everything at Elements is going good.

Someone's got a cuestick up their hiney. Honest mistake dude. Geez backup a little.

No. You backup a little. Take a 2 day tempan to learn how to talk to admins. I wasn't flaming you, there's no reason to flame me back. If you don't read the OP, don't post. Thanks.

Edit: This is your second ban, the previous due to filth. You're on thin ice here, my friend. Shape up, or next time it's permanent.

I remember watching that during PL last year. :) An entertaining game, for sure. I thought we'd use this thread to post games worth watching, especially for the more casual SC fan who will not want to watch everything, like some of us do. :D

Khan vs ROKAF 1set Oversky vs Freedom @ Proleague

A great example of preparing and executing a build to perfection.

Btw, moletrap is probably the most annoying (voice-wise) commentator out there, and some of his analysis is just plain wrong, but in the absence of a better commentator, this will have to do I guess. As your understanding of the game develops however, it is better to move to no commentary VODs, or to VODs commentated by experienced scene members like Tasteless.

Action/Adventure / Re: GTA:Chinatown Wars Nintendo DS for PC

I'm playing this (didn't get from this download though), and it's pretty awesome. One of the best GTA games imo. If you have access to a DS, I recommend trying it on that. They've done some pretty neat things with the touchscreen.

I totally forgot I was the originator of this epic thread. ^^ To be honest, I'm going to hold all speculation until the beta is out. The game has changed so much in the last few months (and changed tons since Blizzcon, I might add), that it's very difficult to pass judgment. Let's see how the beta reviews go. Although I'm somewhat disappointed by the developments so far, it is still the one game that I will consider getting a new machine for.
