International Scene / ESWC 2010 Grand Finals
« on: July 01, 2010, 09:59:05 am »
Since I haven't seen a thread around discussing the Electronic Sports World Cup 2010 Grand Finals thought I might as well make one. The ESWC Grand Final will host during four days ten tournaments gathering more than 500 international champions from more than 32 countries. The prize pool this year is gonna be $213,500, divided among Counter-Strike, Defense of The Ancients, Warcraft 3, Quake Live, Super Street Figher IV, FIFA 10, Guitar Hero 5 and Need For Speed Shift contestants.

You can find the groups for all games at http://www.eswc.com/news/87/pool-drawing-results

The action is gonna kick off at 9:00 AM CET so be sure not to miss the action!

Determinato / determinato changes face
« on: June 28, 2009, 02:58:09 am »
With our new affiliation with Phoenix Gaming and due to other major roster and management changes, we decided to change stuff around quite a bit.

First of all, we would like to introduce our brand new roster, floccinaucinihilipilification. This is a revamped version of the old determinato roster which will cease to exist from here on.

The new roster includes:

PLAYERS
Pubudu "zhkR" Gunasekara
Thilina "xTAz" ****yawasam
Dilshan "azn" Liyanage
Roshan "Mombu$$$$$$$" Perera
Ranjith "ranjiya" Pushpakumara
Mohammed "SpawN" Safran
Sean "Katumaris" Senarath Yapa
Charaka "1c3Z" Wickamage

MANAGEMENT
Irushi "Poison~Ivy" Paranavithana

Furthermore, floccinaucinihilipilification hopes to continue playing Counter Strike 1.6 under Phoenix Gaming and continue to show our support to the eSports community of Sri Lanka.

First Person Shooters / CS 1.6 Crouch Running no more?
« on: April 21, 2009, 08:58:52 pm »
According to the new Steam update (04/21) Crouch running (AKA Russian Walking) in CS 1.6 is completely disabled. Now you make a step instead of bobbing up or down whenever you crouch while moving.

EDIT:

Now when you crouch and jump at the same time it makes noise which in my opinion sucks because you cant do the jump through window without making any noise. Many boosts are also impossible to do w/o making noise. However I think it really is a great step towards realism, but many people including myself are so accustomed to crouch running so it is gonna be a hell of a lot to adjust to. I saw in several forums people cussing out Valve, but in all reality we have to adjust sooner or later. The issues with jumping should be fixed tho :(
