Hardware / Peripherals / GTX 760 - Error code 43
« on: June 20, 2017, 11:26:52 pm »
Hey guys...
So I'm having some problems with my GTX 760. I was playing some GTA V and suddenly some black bars appeared and pc froze. I pressed reset since nothing worked. After that it rebooted with 768p resolution and in device manager says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) "..

I've done pretty much everything in google like uninstalling drivers via DDU and reinstalling, hard reset. etc but only option as far as i seen in Google remaining to test is baking the card.

Warranty finished on 1st of this month. Tough luck..

I've attached and GPU-Z image. Some fields are just empty.

Any ideas to try? :)

Hardware / Peripherals / [HELP] Samsung 4K TV
« on: August 26, 2016, 11:22:52 am »
I'm interested in following model for TV + couch potato gaming sessions :D

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/televisions/uhd-tvs/UE55JU6400KXXU

Anyone who has this or uses any JU6400 series 4K TV of any size? I'm aware of that it got around 30-40ms latency in game mode. Would love to hear about what you think of it as for gaming. Is up scaling for blueray movies good on this? Thank you :)

Hardware / Peripherals / Upgrading PC :D
« on: January 17, 2016, 03:10:06 pm »
Thought of doing some changes to PC since I haven't done any major upgrade other than ssd in 1.5 years time.

Well there are 2 plans.. And questions ofc :D

Plan 1
--------
Change current mATX mobo to mini-ITX.
Get new case.  Silverstone Raven RVZ01 or RVZ02 ( saw this case actually can fit an ATX PSU with height no more than 8.6cm, wont be a problem since I'm not  putting any HDD inside. Just 2 ssds.)
Add CM 120v plus AIO water cooler

1) Where I can find a Silverstone RVZ01 or RVZ02 case?
2) Where I can find a mini-itx board? H97 would be better since it's cheaper and my cpu is not a K series one.

Plan 2
--------
Get Corsair Air 240
Add CM 120v plus or hyper 212x

1) Who are actually using this CM 120v cooler and how reliable and quiet this is?
2) I really don't like hyper 212x looks. Any other ideas? If it's a AIO water cooler must 120mm one single rad.

I really prefer the Plan 1. Please suggest if there are any ideas. And where to buy etc :) Help is much appreciated :D

Hardware / Peripherals / Test an Intel Xeon E3-1230
« on: August 12, 2015, 12:19:59 am »
Hi friends.. I have got a 2nd gen Sandy Bridge Xeon E3-1230 for a new project. I tested with a gigabyte H61 mobo which motherboard's website says it supported, but it didn't work. I took in to some shops but they all said they have no server motherboards to test this. As I'm aware this processor can be run on normal mobos with non-ecc ram.

Is there any one who has this processor? If so what's the mobo you running on?

And pls do tell me a place that I can check this processor is working or not, willing to pay amount if it's possible.

Thanks :)

Hardware / Peripherals / [HELP] PC case cooling and Acoustics
« on: January 26, 2015, 05:24:15 pm »
Guys so this is the situation. Well my PC is performing well and all, but only thing i can bear is it's noise. Components are in my signature. Fan layout is,

case : Astrum. Not sure about model. It's like the mini version of a mid tower. Not sure what's the term for that.
Front :  1 x 120mm fan as intake
Rear :  1 x 120mm fan as airout

And there are un avoidable  intel boxed cooler's fan and GPU's 2 fans.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I work at I can hear those 2 intake and airout fans even at 7v. When I game I don't mind if they scream out loud. But when I work I need my PC near silent.

GPU fans are very silent. So they are almost out of the equation I guess.

So what can I do? I need to reduce fans or suppress the noise from them. What can I do to achieve that?

I was eyeing to get a CM Silencio but not sure it can suppress all those fans.

Only option I see is Open air bench. I've been researching to do it but they are just so ugly :(

And if I put a decent aftermarket cooler without it's fan (passive cooling) like linus did in this video ( ). Will that be a good decision in long run?

Thank you :)

No Game Zone / [HELP] Microphone for buy
« on: January 18, 2015, 08:52:19 am »
well audio folks in GLK. Rise and shine :D

Me and my friend thought of starting a youtube channel as a weekend project. So we want a microphone to record our voices for videos. So are there any types or brands I should look in to?

Best if it's lesser than 5K. But willing to stretch if needed. And model should be able to be purchased from SL.

Thank you :)

Hardware / Peripherals / Dota 2 - Nvidia GT540M problems
« on: November 11, 2014, 11:37:02 am »
As I'm kind of away from home these days I don't get to use my PC. So I kinda play like 2 Dota matches a day at night. So as i'm away I installed Dota on my laptop ( GT540M running 344.60 driver ).

I play at lowest settings possible at 1280x720. But frequently my fps drops at 10fps range even though it can run at 60fps. But when if I play it via Intel HD4000 it runs normally at 40fps and no sudden fps drops. da hell?

Any thoughts that can help? :)

Hardware / Peripherals / Case cooling Help!
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:32:37 pm »
I'm currently using some generic casing ( Astrum I guess ) for my computer. And it gets pretty hot while I play games. It has one front intake and rear fan for cooling. GPU temps went around 65-70C so now I have to crawl under the desk and remove the side panel when gaming :( Or those temps are fine for a GTX760? Some web sites say so but I'm not sure. Educate me please :)

So I thought to drill two 120mm fan vents on top to push hot air out of system. And fix a 120mm fan on the side panel as an intake as already there's a mount for a 120mm fan. And that costs roughly around Rs.6000.

You guys know about cases and cooling more than me. So please comment if just modding this case with two new vents and putting 3 new fans ( all together 5 fans ) will be enough or is it wise to push for a bigger case like CM 690?

This is the case.

Thank you :) :) :) :)

Hardware / Peripherals / Intel stock cooler noise
« on: July 22, 2014, 06:36:11 pm »
Well I have this weird problem. I'm having some "RRRRR" type of sound from my intel stock cooler. My computer is placed behind my monitor and I can clearly hear that sound always. And this is at ideal speeds.

Cooling is good. Temps are fine. Only issue is this annoying "RRR".. Looking at following video and some google results shows that Intel stock coolers are quiet in ideal.

I really cannot bear sounds when I'm working as my room is very quiet. Gives me headaches :(

So what about your ideas? Are your stock coolers perform silent or giving some "RRRR" sounds? And any ideas to silent my PC at ideal speeds? :)
