Communal Assistance / Re: Need a Good PC casing
« on: October 04, 2018, 09:56:59 pm »
guys i need a good PC casing with good dust filtration and it must be able to hold 3 3.5 HDDs(WD blues) and 1 SSD they are the main requirements for me.

can any one kindly suggest reasonable price PC case that meet my requirements thanks in advance. :)

are you kidding me?
any case must support below
[1] good cable management
[2] good air flow (this one directly depend on above number 1)
[3] sufficient room for the VGA and custom CPU coolers
[4] hard drive support
[5] support at least 2 form factors
[6] solid build.

if the above are true then you can think of other stuff like aesthetics, OC'ing stuff etc.

i have made a grave mistake of not thinking about number 1 and 2 long time ago and as a result now i'm also thinking about getting a case that satisfy my requirements. so after looking at local vendors i'm thinking about corsair graphite 760t. i will not get it in the immediate future as i'm looking forward to get a EVGA RTX2070. once that is secured i'm going to get that case and some  good fans as the built in 3 fans are not satisfactory for me.

so the above mentioned case support all my HD requirements (1 hd, 3 SSD) and since i have one BD R/W and a DVD drive it support that as well. cable management is excellent in this case and with 3 high air flow fans (2 front, 1back)i can keep the things inside good temp levels.

got middle earth shadow of war for 10$ via steam. i just clicked "install" button just to see the download size and its a freaking 100GB !!

i have SLT fiber so i get 12.5MBps when i down load with steam, origin or uplay. so the concern revolves around how much  do i need to save from current month. i have about 33Gb in peak and another 6x something (don't remember the  exact) GB in off peak, so the way i solve this problem is i save as much as possible in this month ( at least 50 gb total) so that at the very end of the month i can download 50gb. the rest will be done in begin of the next month in off peak. in fact i have done that several times for such big games.

in support of RTX2070 that im hoping to get, i bought a corsair RM750x from etechdevices. i was actually looking for 650w PSU but none of the reputed sellers had what i wanted. so had no choice because i also has an issue where the only next step was to replace the PSU and see if its really an issue or s/w related thing. (turned out its a s/w related thing) anyways this is a bit overkill but corsair gives 10 years of warranty for this beauty so i'm ok with this investment. coming up in 3 months (hopefully) is EVGA RTX2070  :)

what i had was a seasonic 550W PSU. the online power calculators  shows this is enough as the power consummations will be like 487 but to me that is too close to comfort. that's why i looked for 650 and end up with a 750.

Hi All

i just resolved (hopefully) an error that i saw like below

Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) failed

the above was in the applications log because i took the time to look at the logs. this is because all of a sudden when ever i play a game (regardless of the resource requirements) the OS all of a sudden halt where it even don't response to CRTL+ATL+DEL. so i resolved it as below

i loaded the command prompt as administrator
run the below command that usually should do the work
C:\Windows\system32>lodctr /R

but got the below error
Error: Unable to rebuild performance counter setting from system backup store, error code is 2

C:\Windows\system32>cd ..

C:\Windows>cd syswow64

C:\Windows\SysWOW64>lodctr /R

Info: Successfully rebuilt performance counter setting from system backup store
C:\Windows\SysWOW64>winmgmt.exe /RESYNCPERF

after this you need to restart the system. im still doing tests for about 2 hours but the issue did not reappear. (Y) so i thought i should share with you guys as this might happen to anyone of you.  :)

my OS is win10 but i guess this should be ok for win7 and 8 as well.

if everything went smooth you should see the below entry in the applications logs once the counters were reloaded by the OS. it might happen immediately or it will happen a bit later.

"Performance counters for the WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) service were loaded successfully. The Record Data in the data section contains the new index values assigned to this service."

please not that there is a huge issue in ebay atm regarding GPU's. lot of scammers have infiltrated legit gold accounts accounts and trying to rip people off. i suggest that you look at other sites such as Amazone, newegg etc.

if you can please wait till the next xx70 and xx80 get released. i'm waiting for them and most probably will get the next gen xx70 in this September(release dates) /November(black Friday and cyber Monday deals) or December (Christmas sales) :)

lol. for the past 5 years i have been avoiding all SL sellers including the "shops" when it comes to GPU's. i get only EVGA cos they a good international customer support. so i got my GTX 670 for about 10k less than what it would be selling in here and same was true for my next card GTX  970. the risk that i took is that there is no local warranty and in case of h/w fault i need to ship the card. so far it has been in favor of me. (Y) so my suggestion is that if you are going for the top end cards in either Red team or Green team get it from Amazon, ebay etc and just make sure that the brand you get have international warranty for 3 or more years. but for the rest i say get it locally specially you CPU and mobo. SSD's , gaming mouse gaming keyboards , headsets , are situational and need to check the local market before going for online shops. mid range to low range GPU's well again check local and the online shops and then decide.

International Scene / Re: Request for SLCG orgernizers

thanks Rav. joined the FB group today.  i hope SC2 will be there in SLCG 2019 and on wards. also as i mentioned we need to keep an eye on what other games apart form LOL and SC2 will be there for the Asian games 2022 and make sure that we are ready for the challenge.

International Scene / Request for SLCG orgernizers
« on: June 12, 2018, 10:46:08 pm »

i recently found out that in Asian games 2022, there will be e-sports where they will be recognized and medals will be awarded accordingly.  in fact as most of you know, this year there will be introduction/demo meet will be held in parallel with Asian games held in Indonesia. whats interesting is that out of the 5 games nominated 3 are individual events where the other 2 are team based events.

so what dose this got to do with SLCG 2018 and onward? obviously the tournaments must promote all potential games that have a high chance of in Asian games 2022. this can be determined in the up coming years but as of now i'm pretty sure LOL and SC2 will be there. SC2 was there in the first SLCG but after that did  not get listed. so my request is to add SC2 again and promote that game at least in SLCG. if done correctly we have exactly 4 years to groom potential talent pool and bring them up to meet the 2022 challenge in all the games. but as usual for the last two years i might get the mundane reply of " we are always looking forward to add more games in our future events"

to that all i can  say is that please do not let this chance slip away due to any number of reasons.

more details regarding the Asina games 2018 are in below link

got battlefield 1 via amazone for 10$. DRM  is from Origin.

got brothers in arms road to hill 30 from GMG for 3.5$ where DRM is from Steam. well that completes my BOA collection even though they are spread across multiple DRM's. i have paid for past sins in terms of pirated BOA games.

got Hell blade Senua's sacrifice for 6.6$ from steam

Far from it. Just a matter of clearing spam.
disagree. this spam shit has been happening continuously over the last 2/3 years. a clear sign that "Admins/Moderators" don't do there job correctly. you can clear all the spam just to see another set appears next day. so its best that new threads are posted (provided you guys have the human power to do it) after a review has been done by the Moderator of that area.
