Communal Assistance / GPU not detected after CPU upgrade
« on: February 02, 2018, 09:19:53 am »
Previous CPU was an i5 7400 and GPU (1080) was working fine, installed the new CPU (i7 7700k) and booted up and there was no display detected. Nvidia geforce, gpu z and device manager doesn' t show the card, however device manager it 's visible under hidden.

Tried DDU to uninstall drivers and reinstall- no luck.
Updated BIOS and chipset, no change.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I have played using mobile hotspot, it works fine without any disconnections but you must have a stable 4G connection. You will get strict NAT type and this will not allow you to create squads or join users who have Moderate NAT type unless an Open Nat user creates the squad. You can fixed the NAT type with a VPN like Kill Ping.

mehh...

Just for some final clarification, did you measure CPU and GPU temps while running both Kombustor and and Aida64 together?

The temps were pretty much the same as before. PSU should still be under warranty. Thanks a lot for the help Knight!  :)

I would suggest running Kombustor and Aida64 together and see if system reboots. Make sure you untick the stress GPU option before starting the aida64 stress test.

That did it.  :) After running both Aida and Kombustor together, system rebooted within 5 minutes. So it's the PSU I guess... ?

Then the major suspect is the PSU, unlike most synthetic stress tests games stress all/most of a computers components at once meaning you will see a very large power draw. The fact that the issue was not there when you stressed the GPU and CPU seperately would give strong evidence that there's nothing wrong with your GPU nor CPU.  I would suggest running Kombustor and Aida64 together and see if system reboots. Make sure you untick the stress GPU option before starting the aida64 stress test.

Will do. Thnx.

Your CPU temps seem fine. Does the reboots only happen when gaming?
Yea.

It seems that your CPU is overheating. Check the CPU Fan to see if it's working fine. and try reapplying thermal paste.

I just reapplied the thermal paste when I installed the CM 212x few days back. The rebooting issue started before installing the cooler.

Did you check your CPU temps? It can be that the CPU is overheating given that your GPU also reaches 94C during kombustor. Download the Aida64 trial and stress test your CPU for 20mins. Use a software like HWmonitor to measure CPU temps while running the stress test. If CPU overheating is not the case it could be a PSU issue as well.

Yes, I did check CPU temps, max temps during gaming was like 60c. Nevertheless, I'll do the Aida test and report back. Thnx.

Communal Assistance / PC keeps rebooting while gaming

My PC keeps rebooting during gaming, when system is idle it doesn't restart (Gpu- MSI R9 290). Ran a stress test on Kombuster for 30 mins, temps hit 94 c but didn't crash. When playing R6 Siege after ~30 mins PC suddenly reboots and it is then followed by constant reboots every 10 mins. Temps in siege maxes out at ~80 c.

Thanks in advance.

Forum Suggestions/Help / Re: How to connect PS4 to home theater
« on: December 09, 2016, 06:08:18 pm »
Try this-

PS4 (HDMI)     --> TV
PS4 (Optical)   --> Home Theater

Reroute Audio from HDMI to Optical from PS4 settings.
