Title: [Buying] Ryzen 9 5900X
Post by: Blackan on January 12, 2021, 03:01:16 pm
Anyone know any place in SL a 5900X? already checked Nanotek and Redline, they will only sell with complete system and not individually. Appreciate if anyone has any advice.

Just call them and ask. If you are a regular customer, they might consider.

try pc route
I would recommend PC.Route (https://www.facebook.com/pc.route/) as well. Would be cheaper than some of the retail stores in Colombo

Thank you for all your advice. I have not dealt with Pettah Computers (i am assuming that this is the place that everyone is referring to as PC ) in the past. Therefore, are they reliable? do they honor warranty?

I told them about you so they said they have 1 in stock.

called them tomorrow and say that Uzman recommended them to you to get the ryzen 9 cpu and if they have 1.

Damn! i didnt know about this site. Just checked their FB page and prices seems pretty fair when compared to the prices in local stores. I went on an upgrade spree recently and could have bought few components from them, if i have known.

Sorry for deviating from the topic above though. If you don't mind, just let us know more about their delivery time and experience.

Lol. sorry i never heard of PC route before today. I checked with Nanotek and they have one unit for 155K and PC Route can order one and get it to me for 149K. i also checked about the RMA process. PC Route will handle the RMA process in the event of any issues and i am assuming that is the same with Nanotek as well? Has anyone experienced any issues with claiming warranty with Nanotek or PC Route?

if there are no issues with either of them, then it just comes down to price and time (at least 10 business days).

I highly recommend nanotek because they have good after sales and I have never had an issue claiming warranties on cpus, psu, mobos and gpus... they generally take within a day or two to replace a defective part.

Nanotek has been my go to shop for most components the past couple years while I was in Colombo. Tried getting that for you invoicing in our name at least to be able to get just the CPU, but they were not willing to let go of the 5900X without buying a mobo and RAM. If they agreed to let you buy that, go for it.

The 10 working day pre-order is another option but didn't suggest that to you because I figured you'd not be wanting to wait 2+ weeks.

Can't comment on PC Route though, no experience dealing with them, Mads might know more about him.
