Title: Probable GPU Issue
Post by: Anjelos on December 10, 2018, 10:21:29 pm
Hi Guys need some help my PC started to re-start when I play graphics intensive games like gears of ear Tomb Raider, I have 2 memory sticks so I tried with each stick one at a time still the same issue.

And ran prime95 and tried CPU intensive tasks so no issue there, btw when I pay PUBG Mobile on pc emulation there’s no issue.
My question is, can a malfunctioning GPU re-start a PC without giving a BOSD screen.

My specs are as per my signature

it can.
if you can, you need to do the below
[1] swap PSU and see if the restart happen. if it didn't then 99% of the time the issue is with the PSU = you need to get a new PSU
[2] swap the GPU see if the restart happen. if it didn't then 99% of the time the issue is with the GPU = you need to get a new GPU
[3] worst case scenario is that you mobo is failing under high power demand for GPU. this is the last thing you need to worry but it can happen sometimes.

if you cant do the above then you have no option but to give your rig to a reliable PC repair shop and get the above diagnostics done.
hope you get your rig fixed soon. if you get it fixed please post the RCA (root cause analysis)if possible and the solution you applied.

Need help again since the issue is still there,

Since the last reply I gave the pc to RLT since I bought the cup and the motherboard from there, they clearly confirmed that it was not the GPU, however they were not able to confirm if the fault is with the motherboard, and I took back the pc since they were unable to assist further (and I m greatful that RLT checked my pc without charging side the worrenty is over)

Since I got the pc it was working ok for some time not sure how though. However after a long session of gaming the pc wount boot up and had to wait couple of minutes or hours to reboot, powercycling did not help and replacing the cemos battery did not help either, and now even the re-starting has also come in to play, I am thinking if this is a issue with the powersupply, Any help is greatly appreciated.

Update - when I press the power button the pc takes nothing happens, however after 10 to 20 minutes it automatically powers on.

This usually happens when the PSU is faulty. Check on the PSU
