Title: Witcher 3

Secret Witcher 3 message in lavish new Cyberpunk 2077 CGI video
(http://www.gameranx.com/img/12-Jan/witcher-3.jpg)

CD Projekt Red wrote a secret message about an impending Witcher 3 announcement in a brand new and very sexy Cyberpunk 2077 CGI video.

The message read (via NeoGAF): "We are about to reveal our other project which is much closer to being completed, and it will also be a fully open world game with an intense story.

"You can probably guess the game we're talking about," it prompted. "On the 5th February, it will all be clear."

CDPR still hasn't formally announced The Witcher 3, although it's done more or less everything but.

The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are the two "AAA+" projects CDPR said are coming, one in 2014, the other in 2015.

Thanks to the secret message we also know that Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for 2015, or possibly later. Therefore, we're probably looking at a 2014 date for The Witcher 3, a PC and next-generation console game (certainly Next Xbox, not sure about PS4).

Said CDPR of Cyberpunk 2077's release date: "Currently it's scheduled a way off in 2015, but in truth, the delivery date is more like 'when it's done'."

The reason CD Projekt Red has announced and CGI-teased the game so early has been to aid recruitment for its new second development team - the one making Cyberpunk 2077.

"We will release Cyberpunk to you when we're convinced it's nothing but pure, refined, unadulterated awesome. We want it to be the most kick-ass futuristic RPG ever - OK, maybe that sounds pretty bully [sic], but it is our actual goal! You judge if we deliver it."

The reason I put all that information first is to stress how far away Cyberpunk 2077 is. It could be a 2016 game.

The CGI trailer shows the knicker-flashing robo-lady we've seen in promotional art before. She's butchered a bunch of people, by the looks of things, and the future police have hunted her down. She's shot at on a blood splattered street - the scene of the crime - but the bullets have no effect.

A similarly implant-enhanced man pops up behind her with a gun to her head and that scene ends. Then we see the same lady and man in the back of what must be a special Psycho Squad police van strapping on special headgear equipment.

Some people think the lady flipped out because she had too many cybernetic alterations. If the road scene is a flashback, perhaps that's the point at which she's recruited to the Psycho Squad special police force.

Never  too late ?

Ever notice that the number of good "new" RPG IPs have been shrinking? The '94-2004 era was the best - everything was an RPG. Ultima. FF VII. Planescape: Torment. Baldur's Gate. Now everything is either an FPS or a Season 2 of a brilliant game.

EDIT: Ah, just saw your comment "too early". No similarity intended.

Witcher 3: first screen revealed alongside REDengine 3 debut –
(http://cdn0.sbnation.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/7459783/redengine_3.0_cinema_960.0.png)

The Witcher 3 could have received its debut screen today, as part of the official unveiling of developer CD Projekt RED’s new REDengine 3 technology. The tech has been designed with next-gen consoles and open-world RPG titles firmly in mind, and promises to bring a new level of realism to gaming.

Revealed via Develop, CD Projekt Red discussed its goals for REDengine 3 and how it will impact on the studio’s development moving forward.

Speaking with the site, head of CD Projekt RED Adam Badowski, explained, “If we look at RPGs nowadays we find two approaches, one which emphasizes the story but limits the game world and one that builds a vast open-world but hampers and simplifies the story. With the REDengine 3 we combine the positive aspects of both approaches for the first time, creating an open environment with a complex, multi-thread story.

“Together with believable characters, a captivating tale and a world where players can roam freely without loading times, we will be able to move gaming to a new level with a realistic feel and full player immersion. When working on our previous titles, I didn’t dream that we would achieve something like this. Thanks to the support of all our fans, now we have the possibility to use REDengine 3 and create something many RPG fans dream of.”

Badowski’s words could just hint at what form the open world of The Witcher 3 could take. The game is touted for a February 5th reveal, which we covered here. The following screen was also revealed:

The engine also powers CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 and another title – all bets are on The Witcher 3. The studio hopes that the engine will help future RPGs compete with “top-shelf shooters”, and is a “Next-gen ready solution that begins to blur the line between pre-rendered CGI movies and real time rendered graphics, bringing us closer to the most life-like world ever created in video games.”

Game Informer digital subscribers through Zinio can now access the March issue (seen here), which promises The Witcher 3 will take place in a world rivaling Skyrim and larger than any environments featured in the first two games.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt confirmed for PlayStation 4 in 2014

CD Projekt Red has confirmed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 4 in 2014.

The Polish developer said the open world role-playing game will launch simultaneously on all high end consoles, guaranteeing release on the next Xbox.

"We were thrilled when asked, several months ago, to be one of the developers who were granted early access to the PlayStation 4," said studio boss Adam Badowski.

"It was an exciting moment to be invited to be in the company of other legendary developers like  Bethesda, EA, LucasArts, Ubisoft or Activision as one of the teams working on titles shipping early in the PlayStation 4's lifecycle.

"Of course, we couldn't reveal any specifics about this to our fans, even though many journalists and forum members asked about when and how The Witcher might show up on Sony's console. After yesterday's PlayStation Meeting we can finally promise: The Witcher 3 is coming to the PlayStation 4.

"The new hardware gives us the opportunity to create something great. We are able to work with the new console from its birth and this allows our in-house REDengine 3 to push the graphical limits of what the PlayStation hardware can display. The console is fresh and has some innovative solutions that we're looking forward to using in our game."

Release Date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – An Open Letter

Ever since we started working on the third installment in The Witcher franchise, it has been our aim to produce a title that would take our 11 years of experience in creating RPGS and distill them into a quintessence, into a game that would effectively crown those years. At the same time, we have wanted The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to expand creative boundaries, set new benchmarks, develop the genre as a whole. Ultimately, you, the players, must get an unforgettable adventure to experience in a vast, open world – and that’s most important. We’ve created a story that flows naturally, cinematically, rendered it in amazing sound and visuals, while preserving full freedom of choice – all for you. We knew this to be an ambitious plan, but believed we could achieve it by bringing together our team with its creative energies and current gaming platforms with their technical capabilities. A project this vast and complex would inevitably require special care in its final stages, manual fine-tuning of many details, thorough testing time and again.

We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game’s final release date. The decision we made was difficult, thoroughly considered, and ultimately clear and obvious. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us. Consequently, we have set the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for February 2015.

Dear gamers - we know many of you would have liked to play The Witcher 3 sooner, as soon as possible, even. We’re sorry to make you wait longer than you, or we, initially assumed you would. At the same time, we believe the game will prove to be worth the wait and meet the expectations you have of us. We believe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be an exceptional RPG, one of the best, providing many hours of wonderful entertainment.

Dear shareholders – we are aware of the responsibility that rests with us and thank you for the trust you have granted us thus far. We firmly believe that quality – more than any other factor – determines a game’s success, and that the decision we have made is thus equally valid in business terms.

Delayed again to May 19, 2015. Glad they are taking the time to polish the game. Dont want another unity.

The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly

With this in mind, we took another look at current workloads and what they mean for the team. Even though everyone is working at full speed, we concluded that we need another 12 weeks, so we are shifting the release date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 19th, 2015

well with this review i m happy to say that i give up the grinding process to level up. in both previous games i did grind and at the end i was ahead of the game curve due to that in terms of abilities and all other stuff. this one .... i just sit back relax and do all the side stuff as much as possible before going in to the main quest.

i still like to see how the game handles the return of Ciri. for as per the books saga its end where Ciri becomes ultra powerful in terms of space and time. no one can catch her due to this. so the first question is why did she return to her home world?

to be honest i'm still in a dilemma as to whether to pay 7.5K now for this game or wait till summer sales start in either steam or origin.

i got my steam pre oder for about 2500Rs (20USD) almost a year ago. back then it went for low as 15usd (Steam preoder). and now u can get the GOG key for about 15-20USD. steam one is about 35-40$

Already downloaded the preload from GOG Galaxy, thanks to the 970 i bought from EGS  ;D  The 19th can't come soon enough. But i'm a bit concerned about the graphics downgrade in the latest gameplay trailer, compared to the 2013 E3 trailer.

seems they have taken off some badass features.

Level of horizon  details.
volume based translucency.
Ambient Occlusion and foliage density/ tree count.
flexible water simulation / tessellation.
ground / building tessellation.
forward lit soft particles (fire, smoke, fog that  you would encounter while going through thick terrain into open space )
Realtime reflection in water completely off.
Removed blood splatter from water.

this title should have remained a PC exclusive forever. screw consoles and console ports. my only hope for PC gaming was CDPR. sigh

At least they're firm in their creative vision and doesn't do things like making essential game components  DLC's.

true. just sad to see "next gen" consoles killing pc titles. hope this wont turn the game into what happened to crysis after the first installment.

depends on what you like in a RPG game.
btw it has been confirmed not by CDPR but reviews sites like toms hardware that witcher 3 is best played on PC provided you have h/w to handle the game demands smoothly.

well i read a article that a developer at CDPR admitting that they had to downgrade graphics in order to meet the hardware limitations of the new consoles. they refused to publish his name though. article was legit, their name was on witcher 3 announcement trailer as well. its not that game looks worse on the pc. obviously it will look best on the pc. the thing is they had to downgrade the engine so that consoles can run it smoothly.

If I remember correctly, there had been previous instances of games actually  looking better in pc than later trailers(they tune down the trailers to be congruent with consoles).

It seems like there ARE a lot of options in PC:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU70-e0XHxw

Also this article at Nvidia indicates there will be water tesselation. So,that report of a downgrade is heavily undermined.

damn the PC patch was 1.9G and just after that they pushed another 33MB one xD. it seems i need a better card for the optimal quality. gtx 670 with 2gb ram cannot handle it but im guessing if i had 4gb version i could have gone for ultra seetings with maxed out post processing. so im going to get egva gtx 970 acx 2.0 very soon. currenly playing at medium settings in 1920*1200 and the difficulty it set to "death match" mode. so yes 3 hits from any enemy Mr. G dies .. xD.

What's the total capacity of the game after the patches?

And how come the launch day patch is 1.9GB?? Mine is only 304MB or something like that. And I think the patch 1.02 is also like 400MB. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

And could someone give me the links to download the newest patches and where to get news about them... Thanks

steam day 1 patch was 1.3GB with additional 30-70mb patches. GOG patch was around 300mb. so i guess u have th gog version. it same for other games. like GTA V gets different patch/updates with different sizes for steam and SC version.
last patch was 1.02

CD Projekt tackles The Witcher 3 downgrade issue head on

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-05-19-cd-projekt-red-tackles-the-witcher-3-graphics-downgrade-issue-head-on

CD project Red simply couldn't afford a pc exclusive.

"If the consoles are not involved there is no Witcher 3 as it is," answers Marcin Iwinski, definitively. "We can lay it out that simply. We just cannot afford it, because consoles allow us to go higher in terms of the possible or achievable sales; have a higher budget for the game, and invest it all into developing this huge, gigantic world.

"Developing only for the PC: yes, probably we could get more [in terms of graphics] as there would be nothing else - they would be so focused, like if we would develop only on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. But then we cannot afford such a game."

"It's very important to stress: we are continuously working on the PC version, and we will be adding a lot of stuff, and there is more to come. We've proven it in the past that we support our games and we will be looking at the feedback and trying to make it better."

Rockstar is one of the largest development teams out there. CDPR are indie. i dont think they can afford something like that even in near future.

Plus I d rather play the game on release than wait another two and half years for them to port it to PC. We PC gamers have become too caught up in the superficial aspect of games. I bought a PS3 console and started playing PS3 exclusives I have missed and once I started playing and got into the game, graphical downgrade never troubled me.
Title: Re: Witcher 3

The only thing that is wrong here is those awesome trailers released by CDPR.
Starting from the E3 one. Those trailers caught everyone's eyes.
And now, everyone are blaming because the game they dreamt about for so long hasn't come true.
Title: Re: Witcher 3
Post by: Alucard on May 22, 2015, 02:39:15 pm
I say leave it to the future. The gameplay is awsome. The storyline is awsome. And downgraded or not, the graphics are still awsome. Maybe in the future modders will release new graphics mods or maybe even CDPR will do so.

And downgraded or not, it still needs a high end graphics card to enjoy the game to its core. The future will do right by us and the game.
Title: Re: Witcher 3

the game looks awesome when setting are on ultra with all post processing stuff enabled. still its obvious that for PC users they expect more and review sites like toms hardware even stated that PC version is the best to play when it comes to visuals. this would never happens the other way around. for example Helo 2 PC version VS Helo 2 in xbox in terms of graphics xbox version wins with a huge margin. guess the CDPR went ahead with the current market settings. i.e. give priority to consoles.

Guys if someone could post the direct links to the Witcher 3 patch 1.02 & 1.03 it'd would be really helpful to everyone. I personally need the ones for the GOG version.
And also sweetFX too.

BTW I downloaded SweetFX for GTA V so will the same programme work for Witcher 3 also? Shouldn't it be optimized by any means??

And please try to keep this thread continued with new updates, patches, mods, News and stuff. Id would be really helpful to everyone.

Thanks!

I mean are the fixes in patch 1.02 are also included in patch 1.03 or not?

0 fps cost.
if u enable SMAA 3-4 fps hit. which is good than ingame AA.

K-putt's is good but too much sharpnss. fun for while..
my fv is this.
http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/3712/
I just tried it. its better but blue is a bit much in night time, I can live with it. I adjusted it with K-putt's SMAA value now its perfect

So I've gone through around 20 hours. and I can safely say that this is the best RPG I've ever played. The world is so lavish, and well realised, that its so hard to step away from it. And the writing is the best I've seen in a RPG, since Fallout New Vegas. Skyrim is utter crap compared to this.

As for the downgrade, yes, that is true. But yet, this is the best looking open world game I've seen yet, so well done CD Projekt.

1.3

u need to install both in order. as for sweetFX u cant use same one for wither 3. different present for different games.

K-putt'e and SS are the best ones afaik. I personally like K-putt'e because SS seems a bit dark for me.

Hey could someone please give me links to the witcher 3 GOG patches? Including the new ones. (1.04 an etc.)
Cause the one mentioned above are not working now. Says removed by the copyright owner.

I like the retail colour preset better than the E3. The world is dark and the E3 feels a bit too vibrant. Still, I'd like 2pm not to look like 9pm when it rains.

Really? I preferred the E3 when it came to cities (especially novigrad).

There should be some kind of mod out their to fix your problem, if not there will be one soon, hopefully.

finaly after 289 hours im done the game in death march. my current level is 35. i went with cat stuff as the gear. most of the charactor upgrades are to quin(maxed) , igni (maxed)and axii(maxed only to 2 level down the branch). only fast attack , strong attack and bow time extending to 30% was done in red branch.
to me the hardest fight was with that wild hunt mage on ice. (died about 3 or 4 times before i caught the proper way to kill that SOB xD) comparatively Eradin was walk in the park. got one of the happy endings where ciri is going to nilfgard and yen + geralt goes to kovir

game play i give 9/10 , video 10 and audio 10. and this game has the best mini game in an rpg that i have played so far (gwent of course). looking forward for the coming up expansions. recommed for all gamers.  (Y)

and now for the second run in easiest mode .... jst for fun. perhaps i will try other builds to see how effective they are. :)

Are you sure you finished the game? It's an RPG after all. So many endings so many variations  ;D

There are many different factors that make up the game's 36 different endings. While this does not mean that there are almost 40 ending cutscenes, it instead refers to the number of variations there can be in the game world at the story's end.

im sure cos i got the game ending as the way i wanted. with the  second play through im targetting another happy ending where ciri will stay as a traveler/witcher instead of going with her  father. not interested in getting all endings as some are bad.

I remember in witcher 1 you have to switch to a different stance for a certain type of enemy. That was really stupid.

usual texture/model/mesh importing exporting, script modification, stats modification and stuff, they provide mod tools and sample mods too.
man, CDPR are the kings of devs, other leeches like sega, blizzard etc, milk gamers as much as possible.

but I don't need mods for witcher 3 now, it's already too much  :D

you should touch witcher 3 soon, don't die without playing it.  :P

first smaller expansion 'heart of Stone' comes october, larger one 'blood and wine' in early 2016, they say two expansions combined provide as much gameplay  as witcher 3 itself.

I feel ashamed for not buying witcher 3 yet ;D :P

Increased hit points?

Actually, You start the game over with a lot of stuff carried over

"What carries over? Player experience (if you're below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies), money and alchemy recipes."

And the enemies are scaled accordingly. You can select whatever difficulty you want.

You will need a save game which has completed the mains story line to be able to start NG+

I think the difficulty will be a slight increase, But I plan on bumping the difficulty to Death March whenever I finish the game and go ahead with NG+ (Doubt I'll be able to handle it though)

Maybe not. In Dark Souls 2, there are new enemies and certain new events in NG+. I don't think Witcher 3 has that.

Speaking of Witcher 3, I've never played a Witcher game before but I do have Witcher 1&2 on GOG. So do I need to play Witcher 1&2 in order to understand the story of Witcher 3? Or is it a different story?

It's better if you play them. But witcher 1 gameplay is something I didn't like at all. Witcher 2 is really good. Something I like about witcher is that the decisions you take really affect the story A LOT. Not many RPG's are like that
Witcher 3 is about Geralts past. The wild hunt. I haven't really played the game yet but I think it's better to play 2 first. cause there's another choise where you can take your witcher 3 save files to witcher 3 and start from there depending on the choices you made on witcher 2

It's not really necessary. I haven't played either of the first two Witcher games, Jumped straight into 3 and loving every moment of it.

Clocked in almost 30 hours and have barely scratched the surface tbh.

Pretty sure you'll enjoy it, Play it on Death March since you're an avid Dark souls player, for a challenge.

Pretty sure you'll enjoy it, Play it on Death March since you're an avid Dark souls player, for a challenge.

@Alucard (http://gamer.lk/index.php?action=profile;u=203029), oh, I didn't know Dark Souls had a NG+ Mode. That's cool :D

Dude.... Dark Souls goes until NG+7  ;D Freakin NG+7!!!!!

I think jumping straighton to witcher 3 is not good. Specially cause you own witcher 2. That'll be a waste cause you won't be able to enjoy witcher 2 properly.

BTW witcher 2 is also bloody awesome.

@Kando (http://gamer.lk/index.php?action=profile;u=34991) thanks for the detail on NG+ mode. @Alucard (http://gamer.lk/index.php?action=profile;u=203029) yes, Dark souls 2 is on my list as well. ;D

What I really wonder is straightly playing Witcher 2 after Witcher 3 will ruin the Witcher 3 experience? Specially given that its a 4 year old game. I believe Witcher 2 has a perfect storyline and character development and might act as a bridge between relationship of characters, but will it ruin my experience if I play it after Witcher 3? Given how beautiful the game, how advanced the combat, how large the world, not to mention Gwent  ;D

In a way it might.

At it's time, Witcher 2 was a wonderful game. But after playing Witcher 3, Witcher 2 might seem a little more linear, and you might have to force yourself through it. But give it a try if you can.

Don't miss Dark Souls 1 bro. That's the best out of the two. The ultimate Dark Souls experience.
And even witcher 2 in the hardest mode is pretty challenging. Specially when fighting humans.
I really liked witcher 2 a lot. That sex scene with triss in the water fountain is epic!  ;D
A lot of the fights are pretty awesome.
I know witcher 3 is the best but still haven't started the game since I'm still playing Dark Souls 2 SotFS  ;D

Ho ho ho, I like what I hear about Witcher 2 & 3. But what about Witcher 1? People rarely talk about Witcher 1. Is it disappointing?

Dude.... Dark Souls goes until NG+7  ;D Freakin NG+7!!!!!
You know, it doesn't end at NG+7. It keeps on going forever. Although difficulty stops getting higher after NG+7.(Probably to stop people from going insane :D)

Damn. I really couldn't get along with the gameplay style on witcher 1. It is the enhanced edition but the fighting sucks. There are a couple of stances to face certain type of enemies but the sword fighting is really lame.  But I heard the story is pretty damn good.

Yes, enhanced edition is the one I have. Alright I'll give it a go.
Though I'm gonna have to wait till I get my goddamn graphics card. :D

Well you say that as if it's a bad thing. But honestly it's the best thing there is.

But I heard the story is pretty damn good.
That's good enough of for me to give it a try. :D

alright, then I might try it after GTA 5 then. Then I might forget the Witcher 3 experience.

the sword play for me is the best apart from the sex stuff .xD, its ultra easy and geraltt behave like a true witcher where his movements are unmatched , specially when combined with correct potions. compared to that in witcher 3 if you play death march difficulty even the lamest enemy can block you, counter you. that should not be the case. only in witcher 1 they have promoted the proper use of potions jst like the books talked about. when adopting such a thing to gameplay these basics must be forced upon players when it comes to higher difficulties at least and normal bandits should never be able to beat you regardless of the difficulty that you play.

For me the sword fighting in witcher 1 is not that good. whether you equip yourself with potions or not it's really boring and not very tactical. same couple of strikes against certain enemies. It must have been great during the time it was released but in the present comparing it with other games' swordplay it's not that good.

On the other hand potions are really helpful in witcher 2 also. Only if you play in a harder difficulty.(As I remember there are only 3 difficulty levels. So hard it is). And some fights may take some time.
Specially I remember the last fight. With that other witcher. The Assassin. He's using the same spells as you do covering his ass and you're doing the same thing. I tried for like 10/15 minutes trying to beat him but the fight was going no where.
So I loaded a previous save and let him go to end the game  ;D
He could be beaten. But the fight will go on for a long time.
I really want to play witcher 3 but still stuck with dark souls 2 softs  ;D The DLS's are pretty damn awesome. Just beat the most annoying dragon of all time!
Sinh the slumbering dragon.

If so which one do you prefer??
Or is it better without using one???

Have anyone experienced this sort of bug? Know a fix?

When attacking enemies there is no sound. I mean when slashes actually hit and hurt the enemy.
Maybe the slash sound for the first and the killing blow is there but if you do a combo then no slashing sound at all.
Got all the patches and updates installed & no mods installed.
Playing in the death march difficulty and the bug appeared after doing some main quests in novigrad I think. (Finding Dandelion sort of things)..
Searched in several forums and found no fix

Yeah. I've been playing for 4 days straight now  ;D so addicted
It seems sound goes when the opponent gets stunned or frozen. And I read somewhere fast travelling too much is another reason for this. Anyway doesn't happen often.
If usually appears after playing for long hours. So I just exit the game and run again.

Another thing... Only happens against low level opponents I think. Cause they gets stunned very easily and you could swing your sword like nothing without even taking a breath.

Playing the hearts of stone expansion now.

Now fighting the toughest boss I've met in the entire game. Playing on Death March.
Iris's greatest fear - Olgierd vo Everec's wraiths

Got my highest death count in a single fight (four) which is only second to fighting those ghouls with vesemier in the beginning.

This boss fight is badass! Wish every boss & witcher conracts were a bit hard as this.
But the enemies in the expansion are a bit smarter & tougher than the rest. But those archonoids are really annoying.
Ng+ in death march is what's to play if you're looking for a real challenge  (Y)
Saw some videos.. 2 strokes from even a bear in the beginning of the game.. and you're dead  :)
But no doubt this "greatest fear" is the most challenging boss fight so far for me.
Anyone who didn't play the expansion,. really ought to try it. Really good.

lol, u can kill 5 stupid stray dogs in one blast of ingi (once its a bit upgraded i think and i  think there is a achievement for killing 5 enemies within a time limit or in one combat.
i got a fight with about 10-15 (armed) guys in some underground thing where it even has a hidden door to some treasure. its part of the main story in Novigrade but i guess there are multiple ways to go about it. then there was a prisoner i rescued where the enemies was skull marked pro solders but.... i was in hoarse back so each stike is like 200% multiplied. so yes all dead within about 2-3 mins.
the thing is with game+ you know what to do with each enemy/situation and so it 50% won before each battle start. and by that time your are combat pro due to the 100+ hours in the game (first run).
got the expansion and downloading it these days. ready to kick ass with a level 38 Geralt on Death march.
Title: Re: Witcher 3

even if you start a new game you know what is there. NG+ is sort of a next level.

After about 150 hours finished almost everything (all the main quests, contracts, secondary quests & a lot of treasure hunts) except for some 90 undiscovered locations in skellige. A lot of them are stupid smugglers caches in water...
Gonna finish that now..
Even after the game is finished still can't stop playing and spending hours wandering playing gwent and making the last of the recipies.......  :)
The best game ever!!

I tried an overall build mainly focusing on Alchemy. Gonna do an entire alchemy build on NG+ and maybe then an entire combat build

Oh, the best gwent playing merchant (random ones that you can play always) is the merchant @ novigrad near the St.Gregory Bridge.
Even eith the full set of gwent cards including expansion cards, I still loose to the bugger. Never was able to beat him without loosing a hand.
once I hand a hand of 227 points and still the bugger beat me on that hand and won the game!

Using the Mastercrafted ursine and wolven sets. Those are the best looking ones to me.

Man this game sets the bar really high. I mean REALLY high.
After the main game, I was playing MGS 5, Fallout 4 and GTA 5, and revisited the game to play hearts of stone, and then (again) I realized how good this game is.

Level 35 Geralt with mastercrafted griffin armour.

I still discover new things even after finishing almost everything.  ;D For an instance yesterday I was searching for some smugglers loot in Skellige and discovered that the sirens and Eridnas damage the boats!! They just come towards you hold on to a plank and tear a piece apart!!! Never encountered that before
Finally found all the oil diagrams and finished brewing all the oils, potions and decoctions except for the Doppler, Troll, & Succubus Decoctions since I didn't kill those in my gameplay except for an occasional troll which attacks you(but didn't drop a mutagen) and I need their mutagens to brew those decoctions..

Playing an alchemy build is a lot of fun  ;D Specially when taking 3 decoctions & a couple of potions at once..

Another favourite part of the game was those fist fights with the bear & the troll. Lol!

how is this patch change gwent?.

Nothing serious. And doesn't affect gameplay.
The first gwent game I played after using the patch, no gwent music was there. But one of the background sounds were present. It made playying not much fun. But this was at Skellige so I went to Novigrad and played a hand there but then gwent music was there (same as before the patch).
And the results sheet with points after finishing a game is now greyish and not beautiful.
I also read somewhere that the loading screen between the hands is also not present.

And they've reinvented what bombs should look like apparently. With somewhat assassin's creed relevations typish..
Not the usual pictures for bombs
And I tried to do the the fool's gold dlc quest but it was glitched from the beginning. Couldn't kill the bandits and continue cause they won't die..Didn't try this quest before the patch. So not sure where the patch caused the glitch or not.

I don't like how the bombs look now  >:( But they are much more recognisable from each other that it was before.

I'd like to pitch in my 2 cents here.

I've never been a RPG fan. When I got into PC gaming a few years ago and had a decent budget GPU, the hype with Skyrim was going around with people saying that the game was a "never ending experience"and what not. Well of course, with the all the chatter going about I was curious and ended up trying it putting my hate for RPG's aside and well, lets just say I was scarred :3 Lol, not scarred but a term that I would prefer to use would be "disgusted".

I didn't know why people were raving about this game and even still to this day I still can't get over it. 4 hours or so into the game, I just couldn't handle it. I thought the game was made by Satan himself. As I said, not a huge RPG fanatic.

Fast forward to this year, I get back from Uni and at that time Fallout 4 was released and a few days after people were saying that it was GOTY material, (I wasn't in the grapevine when Witcher 3 released) so I decided to put my prejudice aside and try that. I rage quit after the first 2 hours. Usual scenario.

Then I decide to try Witcher 3. I have to tell you that I bought Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition and put only 1 hour into it and I found that terrible and boring. So I was preparing to stop playing Witcher 3 after some minutes into the game as well.

This is where I got the shock of my life. Till now I think I've put 50 hours into the game. Holy shit, this game is epic. Just epic. Playing on 40fps with a 760 and that doesn't hamper the experience at all. The gameplay and story makes you forget all that. Maybe the 50 hrs is cause I die too often. (forgot the difficulty setting I chose, but I remember it's one before the last difficulty setting) I think the first "boss" battle with the half eagle-half lion creature took me around 20 tries lol.

But yea. This is one hell of a game and recommend non-RPG players to try this.  As for me, once I finish this, I'm planning on forcing myself to play Witcher 2 :)

Witcher 2 is also good as witcher 3. You can't judge a rpg by the starting hours. But skyrim was shit for me as well  ;D

When you're trying to kill a beast or in any other fight, go prepared. Drink the right potions & decoctions.. apply the right blade oil, use the suitable tactics and be patient. The best way to prepare for a certain type of monster is reading the beastiary..
If you ask me it's not that hard after that. Patience is the key.
dodge, circle wait for the moment, then a couple of slashes.. back down dodge again then attack..
Witcher 3 fighting styles are really smooth to the point of perfect.
But in witcher 2 it ain't like that and you got to be super careful..

After the Skellige fist fights I never use swords to fight a bear  ;D
Always use the hands to fight them. It's not hard when you understand the mechanism.
I wonder how fighting a bear will be in NG+ Death March level.  ;D can't wait!

And try different builds. Putting points in to Alchemy do wonders.
An entire sign build is a bit overrated IMO cause those simple signs become highly deadly. Specially Igni.
But the alternative Aard is super fun I tell you  :) And the Fast attack swivel. And the cluster bomb in alchemy.
But alchemy is the one I go for most of the time. Always try to complete your alchemy potions & decoctions and & oils.

There aren't two versions in the DLC to my knowledge. And Hearts Of Stone is an expansion. Not DLCs. CDPR has released 16 DLCs and one expansion and some patches up to v1.12.
the one I talked about last is a patch. V1.12.. It does some tweaks in the game. Other than that nothing new. No extra missions...
If you've finished the Hearts Of Stone expansion.. then that's it. Gotta wait until Blood & Wine.
But why don't play from the beginning or start NG+  :)

I used my controller to play the game. What I usually do is press & release right before the opponent attack. Some times holding the button works too. But just before the opponent attack.
But don't counter for monsters. Use it only against humans & elves.
Against monsters like nekkers, ghouls, hravehags, waterhags & devourers the countering works but it's not perfect. You tend to get git.
Against big monsters & people who uses heavier weapons (Heavy axe, pike, sledgehammer & etc) never use countering. It'll end badly. Always use dodging and rolling.

If you die too often that means you are rushing things. Always have patience. One  or two strikes then dodge. It gets easier with practice.
And when getting swarmed by a bunch of bandits, nekkers or drowners.. aard helps, or try to isolate them one by one

When I get swarmed by a bunch what I tend to do is mount Roach and kill them while galloping. Takes time but still gets the job done lol. And with potions, gathering the ingredients is a hard task :/ I'm now doing side quests instead of rushing through the story since I feel I'm not ready to fight with certain monsters. ATM, its the half fetus - half monster that thats troubling me.

killing while galloping don't usually work well with mosters. Potions are one of the most important thing for me when playing witcher.
The basic ingredients for the most basic potions, you can find at white orchard village. there are countless number of basic herbs there..
Other than that try buying them from herbalists.
Always try to do many side quests, treasure hunts and undiscovered locations as they will give you good loot. Relic swords and oil diagrams and crafting components.
By half fetus- half monster do you mean the botchling? I didn't fight the bugger. Just lifted the curse.
But even that is annoying since you have to fight at least a dozen wraiths. I fu**ing hate wraiths! So annoying
If you're fighting overpowered enemies which are much higher than your level you usually die(the once with the skulls beneath their health bar). But if you are really careful & patient some can be defeated.  But it's really hard on the starting levels.
Once I fought an endegra warrior which was way tougher than me in the starting levels and it was really really satisfying. But took like 20-30 minutes I guess.

And I suggest crafting witcher gear cause they are really awesome and the best armour and swords there are in the game. I sometimes use relic swords but I always always use witcher armour.

Post by: csm1o1 on January 15, 2016, 01:32:23 am
 killing while galloping best situations:-

human mobs with skulls. yeah you can take all of them as long as roach dose not panic and you dont get hit by arrows. even in death march mode this was way too easy for me so i used it for all mobs.

single monster:-
specially those flying b*****ds. use the bow to get them down and hit .repeat until it dead. almost all of them even with a skull can be taken out. but there was one in small Skellege isle where this did not work cos its level is way too high. suggested level max level gap is 10.

wraiths:- by that time you should be having the spector oil. then cast quin and asap the yardin. yardin will not allow any wraith to transform in to full spectre and add slow. end result is you win easily if you combine attack+dodge+casting yardin properly. the oil is to make sure that evey hit counts properly.

the best way to do this game is:-

do any non main quest related and your current level friendly stuff first. while doing kill any odd monster (easy ones only ) on your path. gather stuff like plants thins and sell any item that has a count of more than 5.

when ever possible use the grind stones before any major engagement.

spy all undiscovered locations and engage them if you thing you can handle the challenge. else comeback later but make sure the map icon changes from question mark to what ever so that you can decide later wa to do with it.

you will come to a point where you have no option but to proceed with the main quest line. just do it a bit and see yet again if any secondary or other stuff getting added. if so go back to them.

this game dose not support grinding is large scale. ( the first 2 games did support it) so the only way to level up is doing any kind of quest, tasks, activities.
pls dont ignore the gwent part. its the best mini game i have played in side a major game and the rewards are good too + exp.

have sex with all the whores cos they do give experience points.  ;D

create oils, bombs and health regen stuff and upgrade them as you see fit. i upgraded all the oils and the health regen one cos it was death march after all. no need to do this in lesser difficulty levels. apply the correct oil before every battle to get that extra damage advantage.

meditate to regen oils and bombs. do not sell all alcoholic stuff cos they are the source of this auto regen.

having axiii level 3 or above will give you better dialogue options but its a choice and you need to make according to your game play style. i used it to avoid all confrontations as possible and to get some intell very easily.

do not f*** around with Ciri. support her and try to have a bit of fun with her ( you are given 5 opportunities and you need to be positive in at least 3). else she dies in the end.(the bad ending of the main game and you don't want that)

killing while galloping best situations:-

human mobs with skulls. yeah you can take all of them as long as roach dose not panic and you dont get hit by arrows. even in death march mode this was way too easy for me so i used it for all mobs.

single monster:-
specially those flying b*****ds. use the bow to get them down and hit .repeat until it dead. almost all of them even with a skull can be taken out. but there was one in small Skellege isle where this did not work cos its level is way too high. suggested level max level gap is 10.

wraiths:- by that time you should be having the spector oil. then cast quin and asap the yardin. yardin will not allow any wraith to transform in to full spectre and add slow. end result is you win easily if you combine attack+dodge+casting yardin properly. the oil is to make sure that evey hit counts properly.

the best way to do this game is:-

do any non main quest related and your current level friendly stuff first. while doing kill any odd monster (easy ones only ) on your path. gather stuff like plants thins and sell any item that has a count of more than 5.

when ever possible use the grind stones before any major engagement.

spy all undiscovered locations and engage them if you thing you can handle the challenge. else comeback later but make sure the map icon changes from question mark to what ever so that you can decide later wa to do with it.

fighting overpowered human & non humans on roach is fine but that makes it way easier. Couple of rounds around them with right blows & they are down. Way too stupid.
What you need to do is get on foot and fight!
One of the most satisfying experiences in the game.
It's take maybe 15-30 minutes but everything needs to be picture perfect. two mistakes right after the other & you'll be dead. Other wise it's the same boring riding on roach & hitting them while they can't even touch you..

When playing the game what you need to do most of all is enjoy. But yeah sometimes it gets annoying. Specially when fighting harpies, sirens & Ekidnas.. Their voice is so beautiful to hear  ;D
I use axii, aard & the crossbow to get them down. Using aard makes them crash land which is hilarious.

From most of the annoying monsters, the normal wraiths are the worst! Out of all the skulled opponents I faced wraiths were really memorable cause their 4 hit combo could really tear you apart cause you'll get staggered after the first blow and their is no way to dodge the others..

The sex scenes are not very eyecatching for me as they were in Witcher 2. They are all the same after the undressing part except for some unique ones.

Never sell alchemy ingredients or crafting components unless you know that they are useless or maybe if the count of a certain ingredient is above maybe 15...
Most of them won't catch a high price except for a few monster items.
And sell the right stuff to the right people.
Swords to blacksmiths, Armor to Armoures and herbs & crafting components to herbalists usually.
And people outside major cities sell stuff cheaply than those who live within and they buy stuff for lesser prices too.
Specially if you want to buy crafting components I highly suggest buying them from armourer & his apprentice & crow's perch. Never buy or make crafting components from eibhier. That guy is way too expensive.

Crafting almost all the oils, bombs, decoctions & potions is the best way to play the game in my opinion. I've crafted everything from all the superior oils, bombs & potions to all the decoctions except 3 decoctions since they ask for 3 mutagens from monsters I refused to kill in my gameplay.
Decoctions are the best. They give you super advantages.

And Death March difficulty is not that hard. I think it should be like the normal difficulty level.
Since it's the hardest level, everyone should play in that level. It makes you play the game in the proper way. It makes you think tactically when engaging an enemy..

Death March in NG+ mode is what I'm looking forward to  :)

The books are awesome! I'm surprised they aren't that popular as the other fantasy novels.
Specially as good as the song of Ice & Fire novels. Maybe better..

ok, heart of stone
there is a certain boss where its near impossible to kill with direct sward fighting.(DM difficulty, perhaps its my build that is not suited for this one)
but a certain sign (my sign intensity is at 156%) and 10 hits  of it well... its done. i was like wtf happend cos the fight was over like within 2 or 3 min.

then there is a clumsy boss. idiot swings his weapon so slowly you can simply dodge around him until he finish his dance. then things happen where its a window for you to do your work. repeat until he is done with. if you are done  with the main game  this fight should  remind of you a bit similar thing with that show off boss namely imlerith. my personal opinion is this guy is way too easy even in death march.

btw make sure that from your sex list shani is crossed. (yeah in "the witcher" you have to make a decision between her and triss, i selected triss but realy wanted to do the thig with shani too :). so be careful what you do with her. not going to give exacts cos its all choice based. i remember how i did all the girls which are possible in "the witcher" just to get those nude cards unlocked.

done the expansion in DM.
i should say the final boss is the best in this expansion in terms of a good fight. but he can be done by doing the a certain set of maneuvers again and again. one mistake you are likely to be dead or near it btw.
i got the best ending . not going to say anymore and if you want to find out whats the best ending please google it. now for those achievements i have missed....
need to create Ofiri gear.
kill some cows etc etc ...

By the impossible direct sword fighting boss I guess you mean the frog prince right? Imo a stupid boss. Not impossible with sword fighting cause that's the way I did it and with my first try. But takes a lot of time. There a good boss fights which are balanced and interesting and there are annoying ones. This falls in to the latter cause it stupidly jumps when you try to reach it. I hope you are not running a sign build cause I've seen sign builds with over 350+% intensity. And overall a sign build is actually stupid cause it makes some little magical signs way too overpowered. Second tier Igni makes even the largest enemies sometimes stagger. Not very enjoyable.
Caretaker is also stupid.Agreed. But if you started the expansion in level 38 then you are really overpowered for it cause a lot of enemies are like level 32-35.
Imlerith is interesting. But only when he changes his fighting style. Even then it's the same thing. But you have to be a bit more quick and agile.

And no. Having sex with shani doesn't affect any story lines. The expansion doesn't affect any of the main story lines and it is a good sex scene than most of others in the game.

The final boss(not countering the last puzzle) - Iris' Greatest Fear was the hardest boss for me. Tried like 7,8 times I guess. Even then only the last three wraiths actually gives you a proper fight. the first ones before that are nothing. Especially the last wraith is awesome.
Here's a good challenge. Try aggroing them all at once and win the fight. That's something to boast about.
And I missed the fight with the real Olgiered also. There's an option to fight him at the beginning of the main quest. saw a video. I think that's the best fight you'll encounter in the whole game.
Gonna fight him in NG+ Death March.
Apart from that his wraths - Iris' Greatest fear is the best boss fight for me. It's nearly impossible to aggro all of them at once at defeat them but there are ways.
It's super easy when you unlock a certain combat characteristic.

IMO olgiered wraith or human is the best boss in the game. And a very interesting, fascinating NPC.
The expansion overall is the best expasnsion I've ever played in any type of game.
Hope Blood & Wine will be the same.  :)

i was hoping that i could kick as out of O'dimm. and since he was playing with time kinda hoped that Ciri will come to picture in the end. neither happned so was a bit disappointed.

i hope they will let us experience a bit similar thing in blood and wine as perhaps a secondary quest or a treasure hunt according to the book. u know where Geralt tricked a stupid beast... in that region. i really love to see that kinda thing playable or as a cut scene in the game. Dandilion most probably come in. hope Ciri and yen comes in too. and most of all the average play time should be like 10 -15 hours.

I got something similar after I refreshed windows. The base game will install but some updates won't. Saying something is corrupted or something similar. The reason was there were some files left after the previous installation and they were somehow affecting the new installation. So I deleted every content of witcher 3. the left over files and etc. Then the installation went smoothly. Maybe that's the reason. Or if you want I'll give the files. Free of charge  :P
But won't be able to come to your place. Come to  uni with a laptop maybe

Nope, all three .iso's are 11GB, meaning it definitely didn't copy properly.

Hmm, I'll let you know, The only laptop I have won't last more than 5 minutes on battery :P

Hey for anyone read times of contempt, I've a question.
Going through reddit will reveal spoilers so didn't do that and don't do here alright  ;D

So after Ciri teleports from Gull tower to the unknown desert she trods along with "Little Horse". But after that desert monster bit him in case to save little horse she draws power from fire. But unable to control it and seeing Flaka's wrath through the fire she renounces her magical abilities.
The there's a small para about something called the "Being". At least in the translation I read. That the being has died or she doesn't need it anymore cause she didn't want it and let's leave her alone to her faith.
I didn't read much after that but those travellers & Calls (Knight with the helmet of Birds of Prey) find her and there it is said she is lifeless & so on.
So does that mean she has completely lost her magical abilities at that point that is to become a sorceress?? Cause she renounced them? But her Elder Blood abilities stays???
Because it's Elder Blood that caused Falka to appear through fire cause Ciri is a descendant of Falka & how come she doesn't loose all her magical abilities or only her Elder Blood abilities??
Or does she regain them some time after?? If so just say yes and no spoilers please

she is imba as ever.. her powers remains but since she renounced them they are unable to take control of her  anymore. (the dark powers that is) her true ability is still growing btw. (teleport through time and space) unlike her mother ciri is a true source so she can reach that level.
i dont remember the whole desert scene in zere.... area anymore but it ends with a good bit of extremely unusual rain if i remember correctly due to the fact that .... xD

regarding B&W its getting release end of  this month. and its about 30 hours of play. cant wait to kick more ass. since the whole witcher game series is happening after the saga i guess they cant add the saga related parts to the  B&W expansion cos if they do then its becomes out of sync.

according to dev we will have "THE" fight of Geralt's life time. but in terms of game play i guess my one is way over the level cos he is now at level 50. (yeah i was slowly leveling him up while i was playing the second run in easy mode. the easy mode is still not done. but the dm mode one is now at 50).

this is the most beautiful area in witcher stories. so it seems dev's has done a real good job of it. (Y) and lot of unique enemies as well. i have watched one dev segment and a 45 sec trailer. they should put out a better one like they have done to HOS expansion. still the best trailer for me is the one where Gerallt fight a female vamp. its so beautiful and keep the witcher stuff in reality as well.

You mean the fight with Vilgefortz? He's dead nah if it's coming to that. I can't still find a proper connecion between the Witcher 3 & The books. Witcher 1 & 2 are basically an altogether different story from the books.
I still have to read the last part of the last novel.

But I'd like the developers to dial up the difficulty much more. Death March isn't nearly as hard as it should be. But they did make the enemies much more intelligent in the Hearts Of Stone DLC. I haven't played NG+ on death march but hope it's harder than that.
But I do hope they put Trolls in the DLC  ;D

it is not NG+. it was my original game play in DM difficulty. when i done that i was at level 37. then came the HOS expansion that helped me to get about 41 if i remember correctly, after that small bit of  time i spent every day just to kill some big monsters like cyclopes etc. this was done nearly a year now. so this is the result.

btm line is i can kick ass of B&W any new monster. i'm looking forward as a professional monster hunter xD.

right , the required level for B&W expansion is 35. so its pretty much demanding that you do all of the missions in the original. but if you have HOS then you can skip some of the lesser interesting missions in the original.

the new patch has something called enemy upscaling in the gameplay menu. since im playing my second round in easy mode going to try it out. it basically enhance enemy stats.

wonder will it really do anything for enemies in B&W when vs level 50 Geralt. i realy like the new start screen cos it has the cinematic song as the background sound. maybe they have put that kind of a fight as a side quest as well ! sexy female vamp ... have to kill her unless game gives the options like the mission in novigrade with the succubus.

yup , my bad. its a  mod. i looked at it and don't like the stat manipulations this mod do. certain stuff are way out of what a witcher is which is ridicules IMO. why do i get the feeling that this mod has somehow have a distant connection with DS !

I'm having a problem with witcher 3.
I'm on level 38 after finishing the base game, hearts of stone in death march and have completed everything there is except for two cause those were glitched.
1. Freya be praised
2. That pig roasting dlc mission

I installed blood & wine and patched up to the latest patch.
Now the "Freya be praised" mission is fixed. You can see the loot & pick it up.
The problem is I looted it before I start B & W and suddenly my level went up by 30!!
level 38 quickly became 68!
So I loaded a previous save and skipped the mission & went to toussiant.
So after beating the giant I checked my status and somehow it has again gone up to 68!
So I guess if somehow I complete a mission, I quickly level up by 30 levels!.

Have anyone encountered this? It's really annoying. Trying to figure out what to do

Ok I got it fixed. At least I think I did.

It has got to do with the 1.22 patch.
The problem was I was @ level 38 with about 1600/2000 for the next level and somehow with the patch, it showed @ level 38 & 61000/2000. So as soon as you finish a mission it gets updated and all the exceeding 60000 points turn & max up your level by 30+.

Had to uninstall & reinstall & have avoided updating the latest patch. Haven't tried B&W yet but I'm certain it's fixed.

Finished everything there is to witcher.

Blood & Wine is the greatest expansion I've ever played. Quests and missions weren't much but everything was right for the expansion sort of appetite :)
They've come up with some great ideas like the land of thousand fables.

Feels kind of lonely & empty now cause its finished

They've added some pretty good gwent players in toussaint but none actually that much threatning. (Ofcourse B.B plays the best I reckon) Wins almost all the time with both Nilfgaard & Nothern Realm Decks. Skellige is an interesting deck but has its weak points. :)
Can't wait to see the standalone gwent game to be released :)

Wish the story would continue. But there is nothing to be continued. Maybe a prequel would do justice I guess.

Like the stuff like Last Wish, Emir & Pavetta, the dryads & the brokilon forest, Ciri @ the isle of thaenedd... those are some loving memories

I made all the grandmaster armour sets except for the griffin one. IMO that one makes geralt look like humpty dumpty  ;D

Actually most of the steel armour sets looks really fat & stupid for a witcher

Wolven one is the best looking one for me. Trousers maybe a bit reddish for my taste but the colour pattern actuall changes during different times of the day.

They've made the ursine one a bit uglier.
And added a hood to the feline gear  ;D Like what geralt wears at the beginning of witcher 2 in the siege. But that doesn't look that good to me either.

Manticore armour is something special. It is actually the same gear geralt wears in witcher 1. This was entierly dedicated to that.

Armour stats doesn't mean to me that much since I mostly go for fashion. Usually wears the Ornate robe or a shirt when I wonder around.  ;D

The enemies felt a bit less intelligent than in Hearts Of Stone. They don't jump & dodge much. But more deadly. I mean one or two hits from a kikimore worker and health is @ 20%.
But freakin Bruxas are much harder to fight. The first one is okayish but the later ones are much much harder.  A least was for me with enemy upscaling.

Most of the boss fights are pretty damn good in variety and movesets. But not that hard except for the last one which is EPIC!

Found a Dark Souls easter egg in the game  ;D
And the last boss battle was actually pretty much dark soulsish... You learn from your mistakes. To me it was the hardest boss battle in the entire game and of course my favourite..

i hope you did has moonlight dust bombs with you when you fight the bruxa's. cos that what i did for the rest of them.(first one i forgot that i even had those) fight become so easy with that . no more invis and b***h is properly exposed. i even actually killed one of them (the very last hit) with my crossbow just to get a feeling of the cinematic  thing.  then i watched it again to enjoy the killing of my own.

i think the last battle is not that hard once you find out exactly what do to. then the whole thing last only about 2 or 3 mins. (finding out part ... well that's kinda suck)

bruxas are really annoying. I don't go in to the fights fully prepared. even doesn't add vampire oil. If I did it becomes kind of too easy. But does drink a black blood & a decoction maybe.

attack on beauclair was pretty hard to play like that. specially when 2 bruxas attack at the same  time. I usually use the aard sweep to knock them down.
I don't use samum that often cause it kind of blinds me too since I use heavy upgrades on bombs plus +5 cluster bombs.

The last fight is the best. Only thing that came close to it was Iris' greatest fear.

Bosses are all about learning. And they did actually that. Took a page from dark souls.

There's a dark souls easter egg in the game. Kind of awesome that scene

well well what do you know all of a sudden i'm having witcher 3 game of the year edition. current version is at 1.31 and i saw a download happening about 400MB but did not launch the game after that. its just basically the core game + 2 expansions all put together as one giant game (approx 50gb). guess that will be the best buy when time goes by and the price go down.

what you guys think of the rune and glyph word guy at the corner, I already gave him 5000 coins. with a safe save, I tried and found out he will ask for 25000 more for master level  o.0  his stuff really worth? if I give him that I will be left with some 9000. I am still to go toussaint, is that money enough for any better toussaint upgrades? because I plan to upgrade all witcher sets and keep them. finished all others including every treasure hunt and loots. so far selling all those loot got me 34000. if I give him 25000 , I will be left with only 9000, and I don't have any quest or treasures to loot and sell in the main land or skellige. and I earned that 34000 selling everything, haggling the f**** out of contracts, and ofc accepting coins from widows ;D and coins should belong to orphaned kids  ;D Share any thoughts  :)

That guy is useless. Do not give a dime to him. Rune upgrades take all 3 slots of a sword and only gives out 1 useless bonus most of the time. Not worth it.
Save your money and use them for better upgrades.
Specially if you're making & collecting mastercrafted armour & weaponary.
In toussaint you can upgrade them to grandmaster level.
If you have trouble gaining money just clear out all the undiscovered locations and you'll find plenty of relic weapons which you can sell for higher prices to the right seller. and + you'll find many rare ingredients as well.
Seliing proper stuff to the proper merchants is the way to make money.
For an example Eibier the mastersmith elf in novigrad will give you a higher price for relic swords.

If you clear out all the undiscovered locations, money won't be an issue. I've made all the grandmaster level armour and swords except for the griffing gear set and the only things I haven't cleared out are the some of the smuggler caches in the skellige waters.

well i when i started the HOS i was  rich due to clearing out all the question mark sites , haggling in quests etc. i had around 80K crowns. so i gave him all the money he wanted just to finish the quest. i did not got any upgrades from him though cos i feel they are quit useless for my play style.

i hope you have seen all my posted pics in toussaint. if not check them out cos  they are really good when viewed in full res.

most of runewrights upgrades are useless but the Dumplings upgrade Protection upgrade are useful and most useful for me is the Retribution upgrade it will 30% chance of returning a portion of damage to attacker

All those additional stuff could easily be gained from a decoction.

For an example for your retribution upgrade, the leshen decoction will do exactly the same.
So he is one of the most useless guys in the game IMO considering every one of his attributes are pretty useless and gained much easier & cheaper in a different way as a permanent solution other than as a sword upgrade.
Specially because his upgrades takes up all 3 slots of a sword.

Hmm I should ignore him then. It would be worth if the bonus from the runes/glyphs also stayed.

CSM101,

I saw your screenshots, do you use any graphical/lightning mod?

yes. its called cinematic mod. the draw back in this mod is certain dialogue options are getting blurred out so that you don't see them properly !

Only the people who don't know the witchers' origin don't love yen. Or rate Triss higher than her

ok i done  with the second play through as a game+ so i reach level 100. it seems that's the max level. changed my play style where used more on the battle attributes and less in casting. with the lady of the lake sword in hand that seems to cut the enemies pretty fast even though i have set them to scale up in settings.

so below are some pics i have captured. unfortunately and due to my own stupidity i lost lot of them. these were saved cos i have uploaded them to the site before the shit happened.

here with i attach my last save file which can be used for anyone for a new game+ where you relay don't have to care about your level or weapons cos they are in ultimate forms. you may change the armour to suit your style of game play but the cat grand master is more than enough to beat anyone cos i have done it  2 times.  :)

just put them in below path

..\Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves

and you can get a new game+.

great news for those who dose not have a ray tracing capable card. below mod somewhat implement it and it looks really good. though not true RTX it dose show us the power of ray tracing and what can it do to any game. simply beautiful graphics with more accurate lightning and shading effects. once this is out in public,  i guess i will have to play the whole game again and that means more than 100 hours of game play.  (Y)
