[Poll] Why Does Gaming Have a Bad Image in Sri Lanka

Not all parents are so bad. My cousin picked up a wii for her two lil boys aged 4 and 2 and lets them play a within certain time limits and they absolutely love it.

Think it really helps them with their timing and hand eye coordination.

Like with everthing, too much of gaming can be detrimental. But in proper doses can quite fun and useful.

Gaming indeed has a really bad influence on kids. They waste their whole life playing video games and accomplish nothing. Not to mention the violence, sex and the bad behavior in video games that completely brainwash the kids who spend their lifetime playing them. So, I really think gaming should be completely banned in Sri Lanka for the good of all the generations to come.

Nope. None of them can survive on LAN and tournament prizes alone. Now if you were Jonathan "Fatal1ty" you could because he has so many sponsors on him, he could start his own hardware store xD

But unfortunately that's not a possibility for everyone. LAN prizes overseas = good money, but not enough to survive on. It's kinda like being a cricketer you know? Unless you have a ton of sponsors or play for the IPL, you're gonna have to push a desk-job to keep yourself afloat.

true. being a 'professional gamer' may not be in the cards, but aren't other careers open to gamers because they are gamers or interested in gaming?

i could prolly pick out 5 ppl who commented on this thread (including you ) who make some $$$ because they know something about gaming.
