The word generic means a lot when u go in search of a PSU @ Unity. On my understanding its a PSU with 450 WORDED Sticker (on any psu. )

yes thats exactly what it mean but not from unity it came at the purchase of the rig

using a DVD ROM + 2 HDD's thats abt it so u think it can? any big risks there?

whats the processor whats the mobo u using with it ? well most unbranded psus say its 450 w in the sticker but actually they provide a very lower wattage inside . like a 450 w sticker attached unbranded psu may provide 300 w from inside . to be on the safe side i guess you should buy a branded psu .

if it was barclays of TZ their PSU's are generally good, with a true output of 260W+, which is good enough for a HD5670.

hmm ya i guess so its only better i go for a psu from axle, using a core2duo and a g31 mobo with the psu

You r a Genie, to bring this at the correct time, This shows who's PSU is made by whom.

The local top of the hit PSU Cooler Master is not their product, but made for them, Some of the In Win PSU are made by FSP for them. Foxconn does not make their PSU. Same way Gigabyte does not make their own PSU.

That does not mean their PSU r comparatively lower in quality, But their price can be higher, since they hv to subcontract and that too based on the volume they offer each maker.

Products such as Seasonic, FSP are the main manufacturers for PSU, same way you also get guys like HEC, Top Power, KME making PSU for others.

We did not see the Power Logic PSU in this list, you guys who say its a good psu need 2 study more about it.

1) Get from a known Brand
Antec
BeQuiet
Cooler Master
Corsair
Cougar
Enermax
FSP
Kingwin
Seasonic
SilverStone
SparkleThortech

2) Make sure It has Power Factor Correction
Active PFC or Passive PFC.
Active PFC is the best and it is bit expensive but worth the price

3) Check how much power it can provide in 12V Rail don't get fooled by looking the Total power.

4) If you are concern about power check the 80Plus Ratings

5) Calculate your Usage and get a PSU double the amount of Power.
Eg: if your usage is 300W get 600W PSU
Psu work efficiently in near 50% power draw
