Thanks scylla! saw the review earlier today. IMO Prices should come a bit lower for it to be competitive enough to buy. Its $80 more than the HD5770 and $60 less than the HD5850. If it came at the original anticipated price point of $199, then it would be a killer steal for a mainstream gamer!

At $239, its a so so deal....When GTX 480 and 470 arrive, it should push HD 5870 and HD5850 prices down which *should* push HD5830 down to be ready and competitive for NVidias Midrange (GTS/X 470/460 maybe), perhaps then we would see it get to $199

ATI are just milking profits while they can. This is what happens when theres no competition. Apart from the 5850 and to some extent, the 5870, the rest of the cards are not such good deals. But theres nothing to stop them from overpricing them because Nvidia dont have anything to fight back with (with the exception of the GTX260, which is ruining the 5770's value proposition).

What I don't understand is, the 5830 is spec wise superior to 4890 by miles, but the 4890 performs faster almost all the time >_<
