Cannot attach files to Gmail and Ymail. Pls help

From sometime i cant attach files to gmail. I tried turning off the advanced attachment options off but after turning it off it keeps uploading. I have the same problem with yahoo mail too. But when i switch to classic mode in yahoo i can attach files. I tried switching to basic gmail mode but it still keeps uploading the files. This thing happens in Firefox and chrome. No problems when using IE. Please someone help me to solve this problem.

Operating system: Windows 7 (32bit)
Program and version use to access Gmail/Yahoo: Firefox 3.6/Chrome
Antivirus software: ESET Smart Security

fastest easiest and more convenient solution for u is use IE....

but more complicated solutions.... try doing it on firefox safe mode... if it works then probably a plugin is causing this error... have u set any security settings in your folders..... or maybe you have kept installing windows on so many drives and you cant figure out which is which then u might need to take ownership of all the drives and folders onto you.... there could be a 1000 other reasons.... but a something shitty as IE being able to do it... makes one wonder..... what have you done with firefox and chrome.....??

more like a whole load of plugins themes and colours to go with for these browsers.... he he kidding... try updating the more common components like flash and java see if that helps.....

assuming you have allready googled for this problem and did not find a solution.... i am not going to ask you to google for it... so anyone else having a similar problems.... found a solution???

Yea will check launching FF in safe mode. Yes i tried googling it and found tons of ppl having problems like this but no proper answer. I didnt used any themes or personas for FF or chrome. This all worked fine 2 months ago. Do you suspect ESET? I think u are using ESET too ne? Cuz earlier i used Avast ne. I will update java and see.

I'm quite sure those 2 sites support FF and chrome (xD) so the problem must be a plugin or an outdated version of flash/java. I suggest updating them. If that fails, and your plugins are important to you, you can uninstall all the plugins and then try. If it works without the plugins, reinstall the plugins one by one and check if it works after installing each one. Then you can find out which plugin is causing the problem.

Also, if it worked earlier, what is the biggest change you made just before the problem occurred?

Not much. I changed my anti virus from avast to nod32 and thats all i can remember. Will update java. I have already installed flash verion 10.

Java also updated now. Below is a screen when i try to upload 888kb file. The loading bar fills and freezing at around 90% and after like 2 or 3 mins it shows attachment failed

OMG i just uninstalled ESET smart security and it solved the problem But i need ESET. Does anyone now how this happened and how can i fix it.. Please help..

There're various Internet Security Guards are available....Y dont you give a try dude. I'm having the Bitdefender  Internet security with Win 7 64bit. It's working without any errors.

Yea machan my next step is to change the AV software but im waiting for the specialist's advice. Maybe he have a solution for this

i have ess and everything works fine. did u just try to disable internet protection and then attach it?

Tried everything. I dont know why eset giving me this prob is there anything to do with my internet connection? i use mobile broadband.

This asks when installing ESET, so i put recommended option. Is that correct or do i have to change anything? Anyways everything is working with IE.

Setup > advanced personal firewall setup > application modification detection
i think thats where u put the exceptions. i haven't needed to put any so far, so not completely sure

I've used it once but when i press add button, i got this window but on that window i cant select any software manually.

OK i've found a temporary solution for this problem. I think i have to disable web access protection when i need to attach files to mail. But i've found a internet browser tab in that menu but its not there now. From that menu i can remove FF or Chrome. But it just disappeared Anyways i will use my temporary solution until i find a permanent solution.

ESET SS is a pain in the worse part anway use the Antivirus only.... and i dont think there is anything worth hacking in ur system.....
