TO START OFF WITH...YOU NEED TO HAVE STEAM INSTALLED AND AN ACCOUNT

STEP 1 ** To play MW2 online you need to change your steam nick, if you are for example. ABCD. Change the name to AB CD. With a space in middle. This way you won't get kicked

You can do this by

Opening steam -> File -> Settings -> Friends tab-> Nickname

Now follow these steps carefully (not my guide)

2. Download this

When extracting it will asking for a password. The pass is "NullStrikes". REMEMBER ** DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE PASS IT WILL NOT WORK** Type it in

3. Copy and paste these files to your Modern warfare 2 folder, overwrite them.

4. Now go here

Type in your email address to get the key sent to your email

5. Goto your email(in my case yahoo!)..check your inbox after 2-3 minutes and click on the link that has been sent.
6. Now that you have got your key open steam -> my games -> activate product on steam
7. Thats it!!!! Your done, if you want to download Zero Gear go ahead but its not needed.
8. Open up iw4mp.exe and click play, wait for the best server that comes suits your connection and ENJOY

Edit : I believe this way you can even play matches with people who own the game...not confirmed yet

Lol yeah it depends pretty much on who hosts, this match(below) was beast. I was playing with 2 bar connection and I can say its pretty much better than what I imagined. most of this game i was camping

Also console mode is available with a small injection patch

there are no servers man....you can host a server and invite friends from steam. whats your steam ID?
