I needed some about a year ago & had to bring them down - couldn't find a single place that had 'em. Do let us know if you find any locally...

What Graphics Card to Buy?
« on: June 11, 2017, 10:27:50 am »
Hi Guys,

Need a big favor.

My Graphics Card stopped working recently :( :(. This was bought from Redline Tech so took it to them, since I had warranty left. It was a Sapphire Dual-X R9 270 2G D5.

http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=32973A29-62EF-4BED-A065-971EE29FE1B7&lang=eng

But the sad part is they showed me some issues with the status of the board. This is mostly since im living close to the sea side.  :( :(

However they said that they will do their best to get me the warranty.  :) :) But said cant be sure  .

So if i dont get the replacement from Sapphire, I have to buy a new card.  :( :(

Will this card be better in terms of price to performance compared to the card I had.

whats the point in buying stuff from any local wendor when you cant claim a legit warranty ? ask red line to honor the agreement since you have paid the fuking price for it. its up to them to replace it or if they cant, give the next best card free of charge. otherwise don't bother buying things from them.

@blackjack00

please refer the below hierarchy chart and make up you mind. also keep the link bookmarked.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

seems like 1050 and the card you lost are in the same performance levels so IMO going for 1050 is a bad idea unless you don't have money.

@ csm101,

It seems Sapphire is the one that is rejecting the claim. So Redline is unable to do anything regarding that. But hopefully, if Sapphire honors it, then I can get a replacement. Hope for the best.

Thanks for the link. I do have a money concern since I am trying to invest on a property. So I have to go for the cheap one.

Thanks for all your help bro.

both 270 and 1050 have similar performance so if the 1050 you're going to buy is cheaper than the price you paid for the 270 then the 1050 will have better price/performance ratio.

I got the same issue. Living close to the sea side. Now I keep two silica packs inside the case near the intake fans. Seems like it's helpful.

I believe you don't have a clear idea about how warranty works  :D

The card is sent to the manufacturer, sapphire in this case, they determine whether the card is under warranty or not.
I'll list some factors that can cause the card to be out of warranty (Decided by the manufacturer):

1) Corrosion, burn marks, other physical damage etc.
2) Card burns due to a high OC
3) Force majeure events.
4) The graphics card was used for a purpose other than gaming i.e. improper usage by customer

The guys at the Redline RMA dept. try their best to get the RMA procedure to go through but if the manufacturer says no warranty, there is no warranty.

on a side note; We Sri lankans are lucky that our retailers support us when the time comes for RMA, if you were in the US or in EU you usually deal with the manufacturer themselves. just head over to the PCMR subreddit and you'll see so many horror stories about RMA.

I have no idea where to buy those. I got mine from electronic item packing :D  I just kept them near the intake fans close on top the graphics cards (if looks don't matter :D) It should last long, if you get them, it better if you could change them.

since the RX is gonna be late RLT offered me a 1050 today. so i thought wat the hell.. i used that 270 almost 3Ys and. now im getting a brand new 1050. also im not a very good possession to go for an upgrade. 1050 is almost same performance  with 270. so may be use it for a year or so then sell it and go for a new card,

Did any of you had any issue with where warranty was rejected by the Manufacturer?

Hope mine doesn't.
