Colin McRae: Dirt 2 [PC/PS3/Xbox360]
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:35:35 AM »
Developer: Codemasters
Publisher: Codemasters
Release Date: TBA 2009

News and Previews

Yes, that right. The game will be headlined by Colin Mcrae again. Its the devs way of honoring the late rally legend. For those of you who dont know, he died of a tragic helicopter accident in 2007.

So anywayz, apart from all the stuff that made DIRT such an exciting game, the new one will feature

- more exotic and dangerous locales and environments

- a much more deeper single player experience.
Quote from: IGN.com
IGN: The career progression was an excellent part of GRID – will there be a similar mode in DiRT 2?

Gavin Raeburn: Absolutely, the single-player experience is a very important part of our games. For DiRT 2, we wanted to create a journey for the player which encapsulated the spirit of off-road racing – it's about travelling the world in your RV, hitting off-road festivals and building your rep as a driver. Along the way you'll build friendships with the stars of the off-road world – like Travis Pastrana and Ken Block – and these relationships help you move up the ladder. If you get on well with someone like Ken Block, he'll invite you to cooler events and even offer to team up with you from time to time.

- a streamlined and fully featured online mode.

- and a spectacular new level of visual fidelity powered by the third generation EGO engine. Twice as detailed as GRID. If you thought GRID looked gorgeous, take a look at these..

The Colin McRae series has always been THE off road rally experience and here's hoping that this will too.

Don't get too excited on those screens. They are pre-rendered. Or "target-visuals" as cody calls it.

Gamespot rates Dirt 2 at 9.0 (Editors Choice - great !)

Only hope the controls are better when using a keyboard. coz GRID's keyboard controls sucked.
Actually these games are best experienced on consoles....
