Yeah I know, it's hard to find a good VPN though, the good and fast ones are never free. Eh who cares anyway... People like Janith need VPN's to hide their bombs well.

Transporting PC on a plane
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:53:58 am »
Hey guys!

So I'll be leaving the country to do my degree and need to take my PC with me. I'm planning to put the system unit in its orignal case packaging with regifoam, bubble wrap and mark it as fragile. The monitor I planned on hand carrying it since its not too heavy. People have suggested selling and buying a new one there but I really like this monitor and my budget is insanely tight.

I would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions and maybe even experiences to help me safely take my PC! Thanks

Don't even think about it.

That's exactly what I would say as well.

If you MUST; disassemble, wrap individually and take the parts except for the casing and maybe motherboard.

What airline are you flying? Just a general tip that some like Emirates have become a bit strict on their hand-carry allowance.
No harm checking with your travel agent - ticket issuer if they can get you some special privilege because you're a student etc. They might be sympathetic but it'll be more challenging if you're transiting / switching airlines.

Good luck!

Just remove the HDD and put the rest in the original box with original packing thats fine. Take the HDD in your Hand Luggage. Monitor in its original packing within the size of the Hand luggage will be fine.

Don't you recommend to remove the VGA and send it?

Carrying a monitor is no problem
Me and my friends carried a 24inch monitor as hand luggage on a emirates flight
The pc will be a bit harder as i have had bags damaged on flights
Imo lose the case
Pack everything into 1 bag
Mobo if u can afford to replace it dont transport that either
Such destruction, much waste, such wow , console is better than pc

loose they case, the cost vs convenience factor is pretty low for a case unless its a super high end one. if your hdd is mechanical carry it in hand luggage if its an ssd toss it in with the rest of the stuff. bubble wrap everything and spread them between your clothes. should be fine then.

One more think is pl have a Fragile sticker put on the PC Box. Nothing 2 worry nothing will fall apart if the System has been built by a Good Company. If you need any further help call us.
