Amateur’s Tournament Season 3 - 2012

Street Level - Amateur’s Tournament Season 3 concluded successfully last Sunday. The tournament took was held on the 26th & 27th of May at Street Level Gaming Café, Colombo 14.

The tournament well reputed for its theme “STRICTLY NO PROFESSIONALS ALLOWED!” gives a splendid opportunity for amateur counter-strike 1.6 teams to improve & showcase their talent. The main focus of this tournament was to motivate the new teams, to improve their skill & to uplift the standard of the Counter Strike community in Sri Lanka as a whole. Registrations were open for teams at a fee of Rs. 2,000 per team at Street Level Gaming Café.  The champions took home the cash price of Rs. 6,000 while the runners up were awarded Rs. 3,000.

Living up to its theme, Amateur’s Tournament was able to attract plenty of new teams into the tournament for the 3rd consecutive season. A total of seven teams participated for the tournament & “Team Encore” emerged the champions this season.

Match Results

Day 2 Finals  - Team Encore vs. Team Element (16-14 to Team Encore)

Team Encore and Team Element geared up for the Grand Finals of Amateur Tournament 3 by Street Level. Team Encore coming from the Winners Bracket had a 1-0 lead advantage before the match. Two captains were called to choose a map by veto. Team Element Leader won the toss and banned de_dust2. Encore banned de_nuke. With 3 maps (de_inferno, de_train_ and de_tuscan) left, de_inferno was chosen first to play via toss.

Two Strong teams, each meant to beat the other, gave off a splendid and Elusive game-play. Both teams had its ups n downs still did not give up without a fight. The match finally ended with a score of 16-14 to Team Encore. Thus winning the match 2-0.

Team Encore was crowned the champions of Amateur Tournament 3 by Street Level Gaming.

Tournament was full of good completion and was played with good spirit. As a spectator I felt unlucky not to be part of it, Congratulations Team Encore and Team Element.
