For example, courier, hero etc. I use 1 for my hero and 2 for my courier.. but thats just personal preference. Also, you are able to set hotkeys for your items.. these are very important if you have items like Blink Dagger etc.. it helps you use them quicker and therefore have better reactions.2. Go to your game properties, (right click Dota 2 in Library and Properties > Launch options) Type the following, -console -novid -d3d9exYou can enable the console in game with the tild key `, the key on the left of 1. A useful command is net_graph 1 .. it shows you your ping and FPS.. this may help with what resolution you should use.3. Yes you can play with bots, create a practice lobby and there is an option where you can enable bots.4. Sniper is a good hero for beginners.. pretty simple to play.
Hi guys, As topic says, im planning to learn DOTA 2.. First of all i hv to say dat um totally newbie to DOTA thing coz i was playing only CS till nw. NO experience with any other online games.. So i hv few thing ask from U guys abt DOTA 2 (and i will keep questioning U guys with my DOTA experience later )1. I've dnloaded DOTA 2 and is there any cfgs (lyk CS) or some settings dat i should edit??2. What resolution U guys suggesting me to use?? (Core i3 3 GHz, 6 GB DDR 3 RAM, 1GB 9500GT, 17" CRT)3. Is there any way to practice without going online?? (like with BOTs)4. Which HERO i should pick?? (ive done few researches lyk following youtube vidz bt things gone lil complicated coz um totally new to the game. I know this is a silly question coz u guys dnt know abt my gaming attitudes. TIP 1: When you are laning early game, always last hit the creeps, if you keep continuously attacking creeps you will push your lane further into enemy side putting you in a dangerous zone because other heroes can try to gank and kill you easily. This also helps increasing your wealth. TIP 2: If you attack an enemy hero in your lane, nearby enemy creeps will switch to attack you instead of attacking other creeps. However, using damaging spells won't attract the creeps.TIP 3: Use hotkeys to use abilities and items(Default: QWER for your hero abilities). I personally prefer using number keys 1-6 to quickly trigger items. TIP 4: Work with your lane mate (if Top/bot lanes) to take down opponents. (Use your abilities when your ally use theirs.)TIP 5: If you want to try out a hero for the first time, play bots games instead of a normal pvp game.Hope this helps!
