Amateurs Tournament 2 - 2012

Street Level Gaming - Amateur’s Tournament Season 2 was held  on the 10th and 11th of March at Street Level Gaming Café, Colombo 14. Intellectual Gaming was crowned champions for the 2nd consecutive time  while Death Company was crowned runners up this season. The tournament, famous for its  theme “STRICTLY NO PROFESSIONALS ALLOWED!!”,   opened up a new arena  for amateur level gamers to show & improve their skills. The top 5 Counter Strike 1.6 teams of Sri Lanka  were excluded from this event in order to give the amateur teams a better chance of working their way up the tournament instead of getting knocked out at early stages. The teams excluded were -

1.   Tech Morph xZtint
2.   Living Legends
3.   Reservoir Dogs
4.   EXE
5.   Above n Beyond


The main focus of this tournament was to motivate the new teams, to improve their skill & to uplift the standard of the Counter Strike community in Sri Lanka as a whole. Registrations were open for teams at a fee of Rs. 2,000 per team at Street Level Gaming Café.  The champions took home the cash price of Rs. 6,000 while the runners up were awarded Rs. 3,000.

Season 1 of  Amateur’s Tournament  concluded successfully  last December at the same venue. A  considerable number of new teams (10 teams)  participated in Season 1 which motivated the organizers to organize Season 2 within a short period of time. Intel Gaming was crowned the winners of Season 1  while Burning was titled runners up.
